El Pan Nuestro - Rio — Restaurant in Baja California

I noticed this particular restaurant the last time I crossed over the canal heading towards the Sentry lane and so I decided to check it out the next time I was in TJ. I was able to park right in front of the restaurant which makes it nice because parking around that area is very difficult since there are a lot of businesses and apartments in the area. I walked inside and the fresh smell of coffee was the first thing that hit my senses as I walked in. I was told I could sit down anywhere I wanted and the waiter quickly brought me a menu and asked me what I wanted to drink. I asked for a cappuccino, with regular milk and no added sweeteners. The cappuccino was very good and I went ahead and ordered the French combination which consisted of three slices of thick French toast, two scrambled eggs, two slices of bacon, and some potatoes with a type of salsa on it. The food is very good, much to my surprise. The atmosphere was very nice and the area was very clean and the waiter was on top of his game. For breakfast, including the cappuccino and the tip of 15%, I paid a total of $11.57. I will definitely be coming back to...

This place has the best pastries in town and their menu is really good; no complaints whatsoever regarding the quality of their food and service in this location. My complain goes not to the business itself but to the lack of security in the area after dark; if you are a customer of Blue Luna Cafe which is right on the corner from El Pan Nuestro and decide to park in front of Pan Nuestro, be aware that the windows of your car, truck or SUV most probably would get shattered by thieves; it has been happening for weeks and has been reported to authorities multiple times but they don’t care at all. This has been going on for weeks all around that block; at the park in front of Via Corporativo building, the parking lot of El Pan Nuestro/ Media Naranja and several other spots in that area of Zona Rio; despite surveillance cameras and cops driving by. I have been frequently coming here. The mini combo is great for a quick breakfast, it comes with two pancakes, two eggs, and potatoes served with a slight touch of tomato sauce. There's room for about 20-25 people at the most and the restrooms are clean. The service is very professional and the lady that takes our order is very attentive.
