Fantastic chef’s kiss
We were truly impressed by the options on the menu and the flavor of everything. It was our first evening out in Cancun and had ventured off to the unbeaten path so to route us back to the downtown area, I just randomly selected Bandoneon to route us back on track…. And then we decided to stop just because. I’m so glad we did! The food was delicious and the drinks were well made. (They are made in front of you) The gentleman making drinks was a literal model and his eyes were like the Cancun water. Lol.
We ordered empanadas, salad, soup, ribeye steak, souffléd potatoes, and creamed spinach and they give you a basket of the softest rolls . The wait staff was also very attentive and one time I went to move a plate out of my way and a young man grabbed my plate before it even touched the table to take it away to keep the table from being cluttered.
The cost was decent but being that Cancun is “touristy” don’t expect “cheaper” prices unless you go further into town to a hole in the wall. This is not a hole in the wall. I don’t mind paying more for great food and service as we do the same in our hometown.

I ordered a vacío beef and it was salty, it suposed to be 14 ounces but it was surely less, the price I paid for the dish was $598 mexican pesos ($36 usd). I also ordered a side of mashed potatoes that was not good, it was dry. The humita empanada was fine but too expensive $160 ($10 usd). A regular coke for $4.00 usd. The restaurant is not in the tourist zone, so the prices are way to expensive for the location. The service was ok, the main waiter was on a bad mood or something, he was kind of rude but the busboy was very nice. At the end my check was around $1300 mexican pesos ($78 usd) for one empanada, the main dish, one side, two regular sodas and an awful machine made american coffe. Read moreOur surgeon friend who lives here recommended we go to this place. Wow, was he spot on! The service was amazing!!!! We had Eduardo the first night. He was charming and had a wonderful sense of humor. Made our dining experience amazing. He joked that he would see us tomorrow. Well, we did just that. Went the second night and going tight as well, our last night in Cancun. The skirt steak was beyond amazing! Best skirt steak we have ever had anywhere in the World. We ordered it two days in a row. The empanadas were out of this world. The house salad was insanely good. We were not accustomed to fresh hearts of palm is the USA. Wow, how amazing! The grilled provoleta Bandoneon was so good ! The grilled mushrooms were to die for. Topped it with a drink. The Carajillo, which is Licour 43 and espresso. Amazing !!!! Amazing restaurant and a must not miss...
