Cappella at Paradisus Cancun — Restaurant in Cancún

The only place in Cancun Paradisus where the HOSTESS was very weirdly unwelcoming and manipulative: she did not let us sit at the free non-reserved table, asking many questions on verge of being rude and finding excuses and rules she seemed to invent herself. I guess, we were not the only ones hit this “wall” of unacceptable ignorant service. We still decided to stay and try the food.

PS We gave a chance to the cook. Unfortunately, she/he did not save the situation. Grilled vegetables seamed to be steamed, pasta… sorry, it was not good. Gnocchi had so much flour in it the potato had no chance to stand out.

We left and went to a different Paradisus restaurant. Will not come here ever again and do not recommend it...

Food : Average Service: Exceptional

Our server, Jose Cahun, was attentive and good humored, which elevated the overall experience from average to good.

Regarding the food quality being average, wanted to qualify that statement relative to expectations- We're from an area with a vibrant Italian community & numerous 4 & 5 star Italian restaurants, so our expectionions were high for this restaurant which should be taken into consideration when...

We stayed in the Paradisus Hotel Vacation Club for many years, before it became an All-Inclusive. Last year Cappella was a smaller, more expensive and intimate restaurant, now it became a larger food court/cruise ship style restaurant. We had the Ciopino and salad for starters, and Braised Short Rib and Ragú Pasta for entree. The food and service was good, but the restaurant was really noisy with some type of Mexican dancing...
