Wow, this place was my favorite that we went to all week in Cancun-a city that is quickly growing and in fact, outgrowing it’s previous prices and standards. We went to several restaurants while in town, and also ordered takeout from a few-this was the best on both accounts.
Ambiance is kind of upscale casual and romantic-with open air and beautifully naturally decorated, located over the water front of the lagoon side. Servers were attentive and kind. Carlos was our lead server when we dined in and he was funny and wonderful.
They had various drink options, so we tried a few cocktails (a tad on the sweeter side, but seems to be expected in the area), and wines, liquors, etc. We got a beautiful bottle of white Mexican wine that we thoroughly enjoyed with our meal.
To eat, when we dined in, we got the mixed ceviche (perfectly fresh, huge portion), pulpo (octopus-so tender and juicy, with delicious light sauce and potatoes underneath-this might have been my favorite dish of the entire week in Mexico), tiradito de atún (basically marinated tuna sashimi-so good!!) and everyone gets complimentary tostadas with an accoutrement of various salsas.
We thought it was so good that when we wanted takeout a few nights later, we got it from here. We again got the ceviche and pulpo because, wow. We also added the chicharrón de pescado (fried fish-holy moly it was tasty and delivered perfectly, came with a yummy creamy sauce to dip in), arroz con mariscos (seafood fried rice-loaded down with seafood and awesome flavor), salmon aioli tostada and the ponzu tuna tostadas (there were both so yummy-kind of a heaping pile of poke, so yum)
Overall I very highly recommend this place. Amazing food, service, ambiance-and that’s all not even to mention the affordability!! So many places have started charging outrageous prices in Cancun, but this one was more than fair for the quality. Go here and you will not be...
Read moreThe food and service were bad. My partner ordered a filet mignon (which in Switzerland is Beef filet). The waiter even asked how he wanted it, medium or medium rare so we thought that we'll get beef, for that price. Than the meat came and my boyfriend asked the waiter what kind of meat it it, he didn't knew it so he had to ask the cook. They then said its pork and my boyfriend said that filet mignon is beef and why the waiter asked him how he wanted the beef since pork has to be well done. They didn't even say sorry for the missunderstanding (in the menu, it was not described what kind of meat it is). The pork itself and the fries were good, however there was a peperoni which was very disgusting to eat. My octopus carpaccio was very bad and untasty. It was still frozen inside and very watery, no taste at all. When it came to payment, we wanted to enter tip but the waiter didn't let us he just added the tip by himself (not asking and telling us) and then he pushed the button on the card reader so long that we wouldn't see the price anymore. We didn't knew so we hold our credit card to it and right after it was done we saw that he just added over 200pesos of tip by himself. We said it afterwards end he said sorry but this behaviour is so disrespectful since they did not asked how the food...
Read moreThis is easily my favorite place to eat in Cancun for a finer experience without being overly upscale. The decor is relaxed and beachy - overlooking the lagoon. There are a lot of spots for aesthetic photo opportunities in here. The service is outstanding. Charlie, our server, was attentive but not overbearing. I was asked immediately if I had any food allergies and several people came to check with me to make sure I knew they would be taking extra care with my food. Charlie asked for our honest opinions about the items we ordered and seemed to genuinely care that our experience was nothing less than 10/10. The food was also incredible. The macaroni and cheese is literally the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had in my life. The salsas with the chips are all very good. The guacamole is very smooth and tasty. They gave my sister a seafood soup which she said was amazing. I had the pear salad which was great. I forget what my sister had for an entree but she loved hers as well. They also gave her what I believe was a carrot cake and vanilla ice cream for her birthday and that was delicious too. This place should cost way more than it does. I think we only paid $100USD for the whole dinner. I would come back here 100 times and will come back any time I'm in Cancun...
