Upon arriving at the resort, it already was below the standards of other breathless resorts.. In spite of being a big tipper, I was constantly harassed about where we were allowed to eat food where we were allowed to order shots and where we were allowed to smoke cigars that they sold on the resort. The staff proceeded to follow us around to make sure we were not violating these rules. We had no intention of disrespecting the rules.. Upon complaining, we spoke to an individual who claimed to be a manager of some sort he promised to get back with us within 24 hours. We did not get any communication from this individual at all.. Arvin farhad. After being told to put out the cigar at the pool, I simply left my cigar inside my room. To my surprise, I was now charged a $200 USD fee because they accuse me now of smoking in the room. After I complained and tried to speak to any manager, they promised to get back to me and did not. We tip the staff very generously throughout our stay we never got any buddy getting back to us based on our complaints, And the accusations resulting in a $200 fee are absolutely unacceptable. When I asked for what they are charging us based on, they showed me a picture of the ash from my cigar. I instantly froze my credit card thank God. And refused to tip the staff for the last remaining two days we have. Even though the staff said boldly here they all back each other in swindling the customers. They will make you pay taxes that are not actual really real., The taxi drivers will charge you far more if you do not use the Uber. And when you do have a problem, please understand that they will avoid you until you leave. And they will offer minimal compensation at best. I’ve been to five Star resorts across the Caribbean and breathless soul Mexico Cancun is by far the worst. On top of that, we also reserve tours that did not fill and were cancelled with less than 24 hour notice. No matter how sincere the staff at the scene of the discretion seem to be there was no follow up no compensation no apologies. I do not recommend this resort to anybody moving forward. Do yourself a favor and if you see the name, breathless RUN.
UPDATE* No rules were violated. Our privacy was drastically invaded, and we were targeted instantly since our arrival to the resort. I smoked a cigar in the designated smoking area and kept half of the cigar. The staff found Ash in my room from where I rested down the cigar, And proceeded to follow me, target me and accuse me nonstop and forcing me to sign papers otherwise they would not let me back into my room. Very disturbing to know that after complaining about the wrongful treatment, I was targeted and followed around and never followed up on with anything that I spoke about. Instead, they told the lifeguards at the pool and everybody else to keep an eye on our balcony and on our room and on us around the resort.
from our initial complaint, we never got any follow up as promised, and the only follow up we received was when they were ready to make another accusation after stalking us around the resort. The evidence used for proof was a photo of ash left from where I rested down my cigar. Even when being confronted I was still only met with “it is my instinct” “i have a feeling” , etc. disgusting staff on the resort . They defend each other and are in no way advocating for the customers. My credit card company has already reimbursed me for the bogus charges they put on my card and I can’t wait for them to be forced to provide their proof 🤣. I only left the resort to avoid dealing with these racists.
Just a joke to call that staff management , just a joke to call this a good resort by any reach. Liars and intimidation tactics to bully customers. Not even comparable to any of breathless resort .

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Breathless Cancun Resort, and unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations. Despite this being a special occasion for us, we were disappointed to find that we did not receive the same level of recognition or special treatment that many other guests seemed to enjoy. It was disheartening to see others receive Happy Anniversary banners and thoughtful gestures while we felt overlooked.
Our experience took a turn for the worse after dining at the Silk City hibachi restaurant. We noticed concerning hygiene practices, as the chef used the same utensils for raw meat and cooked food. Despite our hopes that they knew what they were doing, we both ended up violently ill that night and the following day, and needed an additional day of rest to recover (time we paid for and lost due to their failure). We even had to spend $28 on medicine at the resort shop to cope with our stomach issues.
As for the dining experience overall, we found the food to be lackluster. The beef options were consistently overcooked, with many guests commenting on its chewiness. We paid extra for the VIP experience, anticipating higher quality food and a better selection of premium alcohol. Unfortunately, the drinks tasted watered down, and the buffet food lacked any real flavor. The Mexican cuisine, which we were excited to try, turned out to be bland and far from authentic.
We also found the pressure during the presentation for the Unlimited Vacation Club to be overwhelming. We were relieved we didn’t succumb to the sales pitch, especially considering our overall experience at Breathless was nowhere near as enjoyable as our previous stays at Secrets resorts.
Another safety concern arose when my wife slipped in the room due to a shower leak, resulting in a hurt arm. The resort's claim of being entertainment-focused was misleading, as we encountered little to no entertainment until our last night, when we finally enjoyed a live art show.
The dining experience continued to disappoint. My wife paid extra for the “gourmet” experience at the Italian restaurant, but her steak was cooked more medium-well than rare, and her pre-ordered anniversary dinner was drenched in sauce, which she was not told about, it was not tasty. . I ordered salmon at the “fish nets” restaurant and it was overcooked and dry. My wife tried to get a good steak there as well and despite asking for a rare prime rib. She received a well done rib eye.
At the "Energize Pool," where we had paid for bottle service and a cabana, I was frustrated to find little to no food options for me as a pescatarian. My only choices were French fries and imitation cheese, watery nachos, leaving me without a proper meal.
We also took advantage of a spa discount provided after the aggressive sales presentation. We got massages, but they were underwhelming. My wife felt her masseuse fell asleep several times, and it was not a “deep tissue” as requested. We were grateful not to pay the full price, which was nearly $400. The hydrotherapy experience was a nice touch, but one side was not functioning. Water will get in your ears during these treatments, and they didn’t have any Q-tips (this is usually something you find in the locker/changing rooms at most facilities). We asked and they didn’t have any. It was especially an annoyance for my wife who had blocked ears during her massage.
Lastly, room service left much to be desired; the pasta was watery, flavorless and made me ill. However, I will say that the avocado toast for breakfast was decent.
In summary, our experience at Breathless Soul Cancun Resort was disappointing, and we will not be returning. The combination of poor food quality, inadequate service, and unsettling hygiene practices left us feeling dissatisfied. We had high hopes for our anniversary getaway, but we ultimately regret choosing this resort.

(And it’s been weighing on me… After spending $9000 to stay I needed to write a review) We went there for the holidays for Christmas with two adult children. We arrived around 6 PM December 24 as we approach the Conci desk we were filling out paper for about 30 minutes they did not have enough keys for our room, which was OK. They told us to go to the app which we could not get the app to work. as we went to check out our rooms they made a mistake and given our room to our adult kids it had two full beds which was supposed to be one king we paid for that room for celebration of my birthday that we were celebrating on December 29. We were OK with it. It’s now after 8 PM as we check out are room. which was rm 2512 . Went to the balcony with my two adult kids to check out the view as we leaned forward the rail went forward and back. We were so scared!!We jumped back!!!Then noticed the big screw was out of the wall!!! I took a picture of the crew and showed them. Buy didn’t care!! It was very dangerous!! so we head back down with all our luggage waited 30 minutes for a manager, which she said she was busy talking to the owner outside. Her name was Blanca manager comes over to the concierge and starts talking to her in Spanish as she is 2 feet away from where my husband and I are sitting. Blanca did not address my husband and not one time or ever did she look at us!!’ And walked away. I was shocked!!! then said to us, my manager, Blanca cannot do anything because you were upgraded already.(all we wanted was another room) That we paid for. Remind you.
I was shocked that the manager just didn’t care that are glass railing that was coming out of the wall and could’ve resulted in a fatal encounter. We finally got a room one hour later to have to move again the next Day which was a 3 rd time.for no sleep facing the traffics noise! Ugh frustrating!! As the next day approaches? We met a few great couples, and their experience was similar with the staff how unfriendly they were. And there is no beach!!! it’s a small section of beach, not private a lot of locals early at the beach, taking over the whole beach. As we spoke with these other couples, they’re feelings like I said, we’re very similar about the staff and definitely not enough staff for sure one bartender outside sometimes 2 ( so unhappy they were) you had to wait in line like 20 minutes to get a drink . we took a chance not to stay at the RIU Hotel!!! BIG MISTAKE!’ this service and entertainment the food Everything was magical at the RIU!!! We still remember the names of staff we met at the RIU !!! Yes there’s always something you’re not going to like in a hotel. but this was beyond poor service, also a staff member from the hotel securing the beach 24 hours was taking money from young adults in their 20s to allow them to have a cigarette on the beach. He told them $50 the young adult didn’t want to get in trouble or arrested . It was horrible!!! They are paying thousands of dollars to stay there!! you can’t even trust the staff that is staying in your hotel!!! they paid a lot of money!!!These young adults to stay there. I just wanted people to know …. Save your money!!! Please trust me! we saved all year to vacation at Xmas time!! a lifetime to go on vacation. This is not the place!!
