The decor was beautiful, and the service was good, but the food was not in line with my past experiences with Japanese cuisine. Neither from Japanese restaurants across Canada, nor the food I had while in Japan.
Oh, first time I've had lemon juice soy sauce too(?).
While the food wasn't terrible, it also wasn't similar to some of the staged photos uploaded here. I suspect either the menu or maybe the chefs, has changed since this establishment had their Google My Business page initially populated with professional photography.

First time we had the spring rolls and chicken tempura for appetizers. My wife liked the spring rolls (they're not sushi) but I did not (they're not an egg roll either). We both liked the chicken tempura. Second time we had the chicken and beef kabobs which were both excellently seasoned and cooked. Wish we did double orders of those.
The salads were a joke. I gave my wife the two avocados rolled in a slice of cucumber for the four sprigs of lettuce on her plate.

Never imagined I would chicken tikka masala, veg pakora etc in a Japanese restaurant! Starters were just ok but, though the soup was the real downer .
