Puro Mexicano Mezcalería — Restaurant in Chiapas

Puro Mexicano Mezcaleria is one of those low key vibe (mezcal) bars with that cozy feeling of blending in with the locals, that any traveller/tourist/explorer dreams of discovering in each town they pass through! The variety of mezcales is different from other mezcal bars in San Cristobal de Las Casas. The reason to this is simply that the owner himself is a pure mezcal enthusiast.He is full of stories from the travels he's done for his search for new mezcales all around Mexico. This gives each serving of each different mezcal an extra depth as you can enjoy every sip with a little background story.

I would recommend this bar to anyone who's travelling to/through San Cristobal de Las Casas. Even if mezcal isn't really your "cup of tea". Many other delicious treats are being served such as a small range of delicious cocktails, snacks, juices and beers and even in the weekends you can be so lucky to experience an evening...

This cozy place a bit out of the main streets is absolutely worth the detour. Luis the owner will spend time sharing his passion of Mezcal, through an extensive menu of which he can do « discovery flights » per region or per terroir ;).
