La Tasca De La Paz Guanajuato — Restaurant in Guanajuato

Where do I begin....We kinda fell into the "they are busy, so it must be good" trap. Arrived around 10am for breakfast and to our surprise it was empty. We ordered huevos rancheros, lemonade and a green cactus juice. A few minutes later another comes back to get our order again because the other got lost. We order again and it took a good 15 minutes to get drinks, that's fine as we were not in a hurry. Our order arrives and it's cold and bacon half way cooked. We sent back bacon to get it cooked longer. The eggs were just not good(cold and no flavor). The ranchero sauce also cold and lacking flavor. The best part were the beans and they were nothing to brag about. No tortillas even though we asked for it. Needless to say, won't be filled by the trap again. Maybe it was just a fluke as I see many 5...

We were done with our walking tour of the city and this was one of the places the tour guide recommended. It was 12:30 p.m. and we found the restaurant doesn't serve lunch until 1 p.m. We had to order breakfast items. We were served a fresh baked bread roll and butter. Then I ordered molletes. It was four halves of a bolillo with cheese and beans. They were okay but it's lot of bread. I only ate one mollete. They came with a tiny bowl of pico de gallo which I skipped. I was disappointed in that there was no lunch at 12:30. I didn't feel like eating eggs at that time. I also had a hibiscus tea. The serving was generous. Earlier that morning, I had ordered a cappuccino frappé to go. That was quite good. I would go back but to try...

The good. Servers

The great. The food. Both my wife and I loved it.

The bad. As you can see in the video, the bushes across the way were full of bees. People were putting the opened syrup and jelly containers on it after being bombarded at their tables. Sadly this kept being added to and there hundreds of bees around it. When they smelled more of this at peoples tables, they would come back to it (and us)

They could easily contain this by removing all the stuff on the bushes which will slowly disperse all the bees.

If it weren’t for constantly pushing them away while eating, would have been 5 stars. No pics of food...
