I was not treated honestly at this establishment. Everything was fine until I paid the bill. I used a travel credit card, the type that gives a super good exchange rate through Visa. This restaurant charged me in US dollars making the exchange at their own rate which was far inferior (more than 5%) to the prevailing exchange rate. When I spoke to the waiter and told him that I did not want to be charged in US $ but in Mexican pesos, he insisted that the charge was in pesos. After I left the establishment, I did the math to confirm that, indeed they used an exchange of 19 pesos to the dollar when the prevailing rate was 20. I always leave a good tip because I understand that U.S. citizens are privileged and can afford to be generous with others but I don't like to be taken advantage of dishonestly. Read moreThe Mexican food is just awful. Chicken enchiladas featured corn tortillas soaked in a room-temperature bland red sauce with a dry and unseasoned chicken dark quarter resting on top. Lettuce and carrots were inexplicably piled on the surface. The chicken fajitas were undercooked and pink, also bland, and served with a loaf of sliced bread. To add insult to injury the prices are obscene -- the two dishes with water came to over $500 pesos.
Look, the view from the outdoor tables is great and hard to resist. So stick to a coffee, a beer and wait to eat somewhere else that actually cares about...
