Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Los Cabos, Mexico, I was both intrigued and skeptical about finding authentic Indian food in this beautiful beach town. Little did I know, I was in for an exquisite treat.
The menu is a thoughtfully curated collection of Indian classics and innovative fusion dishes that cater to both traditionalists and adventurous eaters alike.
For the main course, the Chicken Tikka Masala was a standout. Tender chunks of chicken marinated in a medley of spices and cooked in a rich, creamy tomato sauce; it was a symphony of flavor and aroma. The subtle smokiness from the tandoor cooking and the fresh burst of cilantro garnish elevated the dish to new heights.
Accompanying the mains, the Garlic Naan and Basmati Rice were everything one could ask for. The naan was light, fluffy, and generously laced with fragrant garlic, perfect for scooping up the luscious sauce. The rice was perfectly steamed, each grain separate and delicately perfumed with cumin and cardamom.
The culinary adventure didn't stop there. For dessert, the Gulab Jamun and Mango Lassi were absolute delights. The Gulab Jamun, soft and syrupy, melted in the mouth, offering a sweet and floral ending to the savory meal. The Mango Lassi was refreshing and creamy, the perfect palate cleanser with just the right amount of sweetness and tang from the ripe mangoes.
The service at Namasta Indai is worthy of a special mention. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and ever eager to ensure that every diner feels like a valued guest. They provided insightful recommendations and were more than happy to tailor dishes to accommodate particular spice preferences or dietary restrictions.

Read moreI placed a substantial order, being a true enthusiast of Indian cuisine with a well-developed palate. However, my experience left me rather bewildered. None of the dishes seemed to hit the mark. The Chicken Tikka Masala, in particular, had an unconventional taste that was far from the familiar tomato-based flavor I expected. 😅 As for the Butter Chicken, it sported an unusual brown hue, not characteristic of this classic dish. While it wasn't as disappointing as the Tikka Masala, it still fell short of the true essence of Butter Chicken. Interestingly, the House Curry seemed indistinguishable from the Butter Chicken, prompting me to question if they simply relabeled the same dish in different containers. This was my first time ordering from this place, and given my previous experiences with Indian cuisine across the globe, the unexpected and peculiar flavors left me perplexed. Consequently, I can not recommend this establishment, as the flavors failed to capture the authenticity I've come to expect from Indian food. It felt like they might have just served whatever happened to be in their kitchen at the time.
___________Review Update--‐-------
I would like to provide a brief update following the owner's response. I want to express my confusion regarding the positive reviews. They used excessive coloring in their food, and despite being rich in spices, most of the food tasted blandly, The naan resembled more of a Mexican tortilla. The mystery lies in the fact that their house curry tasted exactly like the butter chicken (worth mentioning that the butter chicken didn't taste like the normal butter chicken it was a brownie weird gravy not tomato-based). I spent 1500 pesos, and the owner's defense is that I was paid to leave a bad review??. It's hard to trust that this is genuine Indian cuisine. Perhaps she is of Indian descent, but it seems she doesn't know how to cook authentic Indian food. The overall experience was disappointing, and I'm changing my previous 3-star...
Read moreGreat, authentic Indian food in an area otherwise filled with uninspired places. When I passed by this restaurant as I walked to my AirBnB, I already wanted to try it as I love Indian food. I went in that afternoon and I was not disappointed. Good portions and good prices for the food, and there's a variety of dishes as well. They also let you get different levels of spiciness and different meat options. The device that shoes array flies was cute, although there wasn't any flies any way. Service was good. I went back just 2 days later and found the biryani to be even better. A very economic option. I liked the fact that they have a "house curry", made me feel like I can only have that here and nowhere else in the world.
New location, still great! They now have air-conditioning and in any case no need to worry about bugs. Service is fast and friendly, they also have a great smile on their faces. The mint lemonade was very special especially with the burning herb.
Came back for the 6th (?) time and tried their package lunch deal. A very good price and the flavour exceeded my expectations. It reminded me of the creole chicken I had in the Dominican Republic and Guyana which is not something you can usually find in Mexico. The portions are amazing despite the much lower price. Totally worth it. Will visit again the next time I...
