Great local seafood joint! We were in Cabo for a bachelor party weekend of ten guys. Originally we planned to go to a fine dining place on the cliffs, but the logistics (and price) didn't work out; so while doing a boat excursion that day, we asked the captain and his crew for recommendations of a good local seafood (fresh) restaurant that had raw oysters (maybe clams) and boiled shrimp and they all agreed that Tres Islas was the place to go.

This place is just a few blocks inland from the coast, so we parked at the Puerto Paraisa Mall (we paid around $1US for parking about 3hrs) and walked about ten minutes to the restaurant. We got a little worried as Google maps led us to the place, since it started looking a little sketchy on the streets, but suddenly we turned a corner and there it was!

The place was not very full (yet), but it was a nice mix of tourists and locals. That is always a good sign!

We were greeted very warmly and they put together some tables for us to seat our party of ten (we had not made reservations, but this was their offseason). They immediately brought to us a giant platter of raw seafood, recommending it for our party. It had two tuna steaks, two lobster tails, a fillet of sea bass, 5 bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp, 5 butterflied grilled jumbo shrimp, and a whole snapper, all of which would be fried or grilled for us. Each platter was meant to feed 5 for $135US. That seemed a bit on the high side, as there were items for much more moderate prices on the menu; so we were unsure if this was some kind of tourist upcharge thing since it didn't seem like it would really be enough food for ten big guys, but after some discussion, we decided to take a chance with it and got two platters. We added some appetizers of raw oysters, raw clams, steamed shrimp, and fish ceviche.

The oysters were clearly fresh, but a bit too salty and briny for us. If that's how you like your oysters, then get them; it was our least favorite dish. The raw clams were actually large clams, which they cut up into bite-size pieces and serve in their original shells. It was good and the clams were fresh and a bit sweet, but not overly impressive. But everything else? Oh my! The steamed shrimp were incredible! Sweet, firm, juicy. They had clearly been caught that day. Steaming had left all the tasty juices from the shrimp head intact (boiling usually washes it away) so that it added a nice umami shrimp flavor when you peeled the shell off and the bright red head juice mixed with the rest of the shrimp meat. That ended up being our favorite. The ceviche was excellent. Just the right combination of citrus, sweet, and salty. There were crackers and tortas already on the table to eat the ceviche with.

Then the main course came out, the seafood platters, and our concerns were totally put to rest. Everything was incredibly fresh and beautifully seasoned; and not like they seasoned everything the same, but each item was seasoned differently. Trust me, everything on that platter was amazing! So worth it. And it came with fresh tortillas, rice, and steamed vegetables. In the end, we were totally stuffed (including the bodybuilder who was part of our group).

Service was great! They kept our water glasses filled, replaced our plates and utensils with clean ones after the appetizers, and would check in with us on how we were doing throughout the night. And even though the place got crowded while we were there, we never felt rushed to finish and leave to open up our tables for other guests.

We were really happy to end up here for dinner. All the guys in our group agreed it was a great meal.

Oh, and beers were...

Wow!! Where do I start. Well this place is so good it moved me to write my 1st review ever. I loved everything about my experience here. All of the staff have smiles on there faces and seem to live their jobs. The atmosphere is amazing and the service is even better. Now let's get to the food. I stayed at a really nice high end resort and nothing there comes close to what this place had to offer. I mean everything on my place was the best I have ever had. The rice broccoli and peppers were amazing. I had the sea food platter and everything was heaven in my mouth. The food is fresh and they don't even start cutting the veggies until you order. The Margarita was made with real fruit and the best one I had my entire week long trip. After I was done I could of died and gone to heaven by far the best food I have ever ate in my 30 years of life. The even make their own fresh tater sauce which is also the best I have ever had. Everything was literally amazing this is an must go place and should be ranked way higher... and the food was priced low which was even more the meal I had would of coast me 150 in the u.s. but was only $50... I was amazed on so many levels... this place is...

Arrived at this place with super high expectations because of the 5 star reviews but got extremely disappointed with the quality of seafood and service.

Mariscos Las Tres Islas is supposed to be one of the tastiest restaurants in town but the seafood was not very fresh, they gave us store bag tortillas (tostadas) instead of house made ones. The atun de pescado was okay but could’ve been fresher. My partner ordered garlic shrimp which was super oily and it seemed like he ordered an oily soup instead. The rice was pretty buttery but the shrimp was not good. The worst item you can get it’s the seafood soup, the shrimp still had their FECES inside which made me almost puke and what is worst it’s the rubber band in the soup. I told the server about his and he told me I should’ve asked how I wanted my shrimp when he never gave me the option. Can you imagine finding a rubber band and feces on your food?!

The soup just tasted like tomato soup with stale seafood.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and be aware of sites with 5 stars reviews cause they might be just fake or not accurate at all.

Overall not recommended. Food 1/10 Service...

The octopus taco was awesome, but id skip the fish, shrimp (which was deep fried), and the marlin tacos. 6 tacos, avacado, and a mango smoothie was $40. They served us 3 different salsas — all were mild or in between mild and medium. So if you want a toned down ‘authentic experience’ you might like it but i was pretty disappointed. My wife did like her fish tacos but she hates spicy food. We asked the server what was the best and he suggested an item that was literally 10X more expensive than most of the platters. I normally dont due this, but for other tourists looking for spots where 70% of the patrons are ‘locals’ instead of tourist, id highly recommend Los Claros. Great agua chile, salsa bar, ceviche, and the mixed seafood taco blew my mind. They had at least 1 worker there who spoke great English (perhaps more but we ordered in Spanish). Los Claros, Ignacio Zaragoza, Downtown, Centro, 23450 Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S.
