Cha' is a true gem!
Located a short ride (or a 25 minute walk) from the main strip in the Zona Hotelera, this clean, airy, and green space is beautiful.
The menu had enough variety during brunch \ lunch to make think carefully, but not so much as to be overwhelming. I got the sense that rather than offering everything under the sun, Cha' prefers to do a few things incredibly well -- and they do!
My wife couldn't resist the pancakes with condensed milk and nuts which were very reminiscent of Hawaiian pancakes. The plate was adorned with perfectly ripe fruit including raspberries, blueberries, and peaches sliced thin.
I opted for the chilaquiles con mole almendrado and I have no regrets. The tortilla was crispy, the mole perfectly spicy-sweet, and the chicken was perfectly moist and tender. The chef was very generous with the sliced avocado on top, and the flavors combined nicely with the crumbly white cheese over the top.
With a cafe de olla, this made an amazing late brunch. Including a banana, cacao, and peanut milkshake for my wife, we still came in under 350 MXP for a filling meal in a beautiful patio area beside the restaurant. We highly recommend Cha', and we wish we'd found this particular cache of gourmet restaurants before our last...

Read moreCha in Versalles looks the part of a trendy brunch spot—clean lines, Instagram-ready plates, and plenty of natural light—but once you get past the aesthetic, it’s hard to understand what all the fuss is about.
The food is fine. Not bad, not amazing—just fine. Portions are on the small side, flavors are muted, and there’s a definite feeling that the focus is more on presentation than taste. The avocado toast, for example, looks great but lands flat. Pastries are decent, but nothing you couldn’t find elsewhere without the wait.
And that’s the real mystery: the wait. There’s often a line out the door, and after finally getting seated, you can’t help but wonder why. Service is polite but slow and slightly disorganized, especially during peak hours.
To be fair, if you’re just looking for a light breakfast in a pretty space, Cha checks the box. But if you’re hoping for a standout meal, there are better spots in Versalles that deliver stronger flavors, better value, and less attitude.
Local Tip: Skip the weekend crowd. Or better yet, head down the block—Versalles is full of brunch spots that are more than...
