I could go on and on about La Ruta, but it wouldn't be enough to truly tell the story.
This restaurant opened July 2022 and looks like word is getting out. A friend stumbled upon it, turned us on and since then, we've shared the find with others.
Steak, fish, shrimp, ceviche, tacos, fajitas, burgers pasta are on the menu, but my number one go-to are the RIBS! They've perfected the sauce, the meat falls off the bone. I've eaten them twice over the past 2 weeks and I'm going to have another real soon! They are seriously good!
The entrees are served with 2 sides. The corn on the cob is delicious, and I don't know what seasonings they use for the roasted veggies, but I hope they never change it.
I can't leave this review without a shout out to Rosie. Rosie serves up the meals with the brightest smile and the efficiency of someone who takes pride in making sure others enjoy their experience at La Ruta. She's a true asset to that fine establishment.
I don't know the names of others, but they all work together to make sure La Ruta runs smoothly. The kitchen can crank it all out within an acceptable time frame. (Not always a thing in PV!) The gentleman who appears to be in charge of making sure everything runs glitch free, goes from table to table, making a genuine effort to welcome each and everyone. It makes a difference.
Bottom line, 5 stars,...
Read moreThis was our first visit in PV. Someone suggested a taco rest but could not find the place but came across La Ruta. I wanted authentic Mexican food. The place was not hopping with customers on a Thursday night. Staff was friendly and nice atmosphere. We ordered appetizer: guacamole-it tasted like it was mixed with cream cheese-Chips were staled. There octopus tacos were terrible. My partner ordered the mahi mahi with burnt shrimp and some kind beans that was to fried like omelet style. Partner did like the taste of the mahi mahi. Drinks were not that great. Overall the staff was sweet but very disappointed with our first experience in PV for an amazing Mexican food. I love Mexican food-But come on-the stale chips-guacamole looking as if it came from a left over jar-not acceptable. Thanks La Ruta for my worse experience in PV.. I guess, I have not found the best taco in you and good luck with your grade...
Read moreLa Ruta was conveniently located on the next street over from our hotel. After a long day of traveling, we decided to go in since it's so close. We were greeted by the friendliest, most welcoming person. Her name was Maria. Her vibrant personality and joy serving us made a long tiring day of traveling a lot better. Because of her amazing service on our first night in PV, we went back to La Ruta multiple times to eat, just to see Maria. We later named her "Maria with the bright red lips". We can safely say we made a friend in PV. I would highly recommend you stopping by La Ruta. The food was amazing, and the staff are awesome! If you're lucky enough to get Maria with the bright red lips as your server, I guarantee you'll go back...
