A friend that lives in Peurto Vallarta took us to this amazing little locals only restaurant. It's up in the old town district of Peurto Vallarta known as the Romantic Zone by the locals. The roads are just rounded river walk and it's very hilly and quaint. There are only 5 tables on the sidewalk. The food was absolutely the best authentic Mexican food we ever had. We ate civecha (fish and shrimp), muscles, octopus, shrimp and tostada's. Omg it was so fresh and delicious. If you find yourself in Peurto Vallarta and want a romantic dinner in an authentic friendly sidewalk restaurant then tell your taxi driver to bring you here. There are taxis on corner to take you back. If you want a special treat after dinner order their flan. Its homemade and rivals any fancy high-end restaurant you could find. We drank hibiscus water and orange soda. There were 5 people in my group and altogether with a 200 peso tip the meal cost 1,100 peso. Try and find that anywhere in the States, I dare you. We will definitely return to this...
Read moreThis is our favourite restaurant for sea food in PV. It’s kind of off the beaten path and not a lot of people know about it. The food is delicious. The ambiance is very nice even though you are seated on a sidewalk by a street that is little used. You are enclosed by big leafy greenery. Around mid afternoon I had the shrimp burrito and could only eat 1/2. (doggy bagged the rest and made a great scrambled egg breakfast for us this morning) The Mrs. had the fish soup that comes with 4 pieces of garlic toast. It had shrimp, a crab and many different kinds of excellent tasting fish in it. Cost about $21. Can. total. We were still not hungry that evening! This is a family run business and they live here. They are only open till 8pm. Everything is spotless clean. Enjoy ! Well like moths to the light we went back again and enjoyed the same great quality of food. I had the shrimp burrito again and the missus had the fish platter. She will stick with the seafood soup in the future as it’s more...
Read moreI walked past this little sidewalk restaurant a while back, the line was long, people clamoring for a seat.
Los Lirios is actually a residence. I don't know the history, but it looks as though the family lives there and runs the restaurant out of the bottom portion of their home. It's located away from all the loud crazy, about 6 blocks back from Olas Altas
They close at 8p and we arrived at about 7:50. There was no hesitation to seat us like one might notice when arriving at other places 10 minutes before closing.
Husband and I each ordered a shrimp burrito and the server says, "dos?" Si! Well, when they arrived, we understood why he was double checking. We could have easily shared. Delicious!!
A friend ordered a plateful of good looking hefty sized shrimp and left nothing on his plate.
Easy on the purse, we paid 290 pesos for both of us.
Highly...
