Diners Beware – Disgusting and Unsanitary Practices

While walking in the Romantic Zone, my husband andI stumbled across Soco’s Place. It was crowded, so I figured the food must be good. After eating, I was completely grossed out by what I witnessed: our waiter and a man who appeared to be the owner were recycling unused food.

Specifically, our unpackaged leftover jelly and an untouched bowl of salsa were placed on a wooden shelf near the kitchen—along with other customers’ leftovers that I also saw being added to the same shelf. Then, I watched our waiter take our and others’ leftover jelly and combine it into a plastic container already filled with other jelly. Even worse, he used his index finger to sweep some of the jelly into the container ~ clearly to be re-served.

He also took our unused bowl of salsa and, instead of disposing of it, handed it off to a kitchen worker—clearly to be re-served.

I can only pray this kind of behavior isn’t the norm in other restaurants....

My favourite breakfast place. Warm and inviting with airiness around you, this place serves it right. A local secret, this place serves it hot, fast, delicious and lots of it. Coffee is hot, strong and very tasteful. I always have the fresh squeezed oranger juice before eating. A well variety menu is placed in front of you and the coffee soon follows. Medium sized establishment with five tables outside and seven tables inside. Spacious yet intimate, Soco’s has that Mexican charm. Located on a quiet section of roadway away from the bustle, a leisurely breakfast can be enjoyed. I would recommend this place for it’s authentic Mexican cuisine, fast and friendly service (ask for the “C’mon baby” waiter. He is a hoot. Do...

I have been there 3 times for breakfast. twice I had the veggie omelet and once the oatmeal. I liked the food. The coffee is ok, but it seemed to be different each time. Maybe I had some that had been sitting for awhile. When the coffee is freshly made I did like it. They brew the coffee into a big stainless steel flask, which is ok if there are lots of people drinking coffee, but when there are only a few customers the coffee gets too old. I like freshly made coffee as you can tell. Roberto is a nice friendly waiter. The reception young lady is always smiling and friendly. There isn't roof top or outdoor seating. Also I did have the fresh carrot juice and...

We had brunch here today with our group and had a blast. I thought it was going to be miserable because there is no AC but it was surprisingly breezy and not bad at all. The service was the best. Great guys that were very attentive. Margaritas were good, they need better tequila but I'm a snob about tequila. They only have Jose Cuervo. Food was good and they bring out chips and Mexican salsa. They pancakes were good too. Food was perfectly brought out. Nothing missed. Our waiter was fantastic. I would go back.

We stumbled upon here just before they closed for lunch. I'm so glad we did! We split an order of chicken fajitas. They were delicious! The portion was perfect for two. We received both harina and maize tortillas, guacamole, and beans. A side a spicy adobo salsa came with the fajitas. We were served complimentary chips with pico de gallo and a spicy green salsa while they cooked our meal. I wish we would've found this place sooner; I would've definitely gone for breakfast! The prices are very reasonable.

10/2022 Delicious Mexican breakfast Never a disappointment Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Chilaquiles with shredded chicken, over easy eggs and red sauce was delicious. Everything to the chicken and the eggs were cooked to perfection . The side of hot sauce gave it a nice kick, but wasn’t too overwhelming . Combine that with the green juice and it was heavenly . Super affordable. A Great find . Must try 🤙👍💎 If this review was helpful, please give it a 👍 Happy travels ✈️🍾🙏
