Uses old meat that's reheated on the grill, it wasn't carved fresh off the spit/trompo.
And the portions are small. With so many good tacos in PVR, whoever recommended this place has no clue. Many street tacos in Los Angeles are much better than this.
Ask for prices first. 25 pesos per taco, which makes it a bad deal considering Pancho's across the street gives you much bigger AND FRESHER portions at nearly the same price. Also Pancho's carves fresh off their massive trompo. And Panchos uses charcoal to roast their tacos, not the off-tasting propane flame. There's a reason for the wait! And no-- I'm not affiliated with Panchos... just mad at myself for not waiting in line.
With so many good tacos in PVR, whoever recommended this place has no clue. Price wise, I don't really care I wasted my pesos. Not a big deal. Opportunity cost wise, this is super annoying. If you're traveling all the way to PVR from the States (or further), don't waste your time believing these rave reviews. This place is...
Read moreAs far as prices go in Puerto Vallarta, you can't beat it. We paid 200 pesos for six tacos. As for quality, I've been eating my way across the area for five days and these pastor tacos are some of the best. I've eaten Mexican food from Washington all the way to through Arizona and these might just be some of the greatest tacos I've ever had.
The serving of meat is generous and the seasoning/marinade they use on the flame roasted rotating pastor piña is incredible. The slice of pineapple is conservative but this is perfect in balancing the flavors as pineapple can be a powerful flavor. I highly recommend adding the very spicy sauce. I would put my spicy tolerance at intermediate and the flavor of this sauce is profound. You can add limes and cucumber and pickled onions to your desire. Food is fast and the servers are friendly and easy to interact with.

One of the best street-style tacos in PVR! The Al Pastor, Chorizo, and Carne Asada are authentic and full of flavor and are best as tacos or quesadillas. The Al Pastor is what stood out the most. They give you 3 different styles of salsa along with pickled red onions and cucumber.
They are so friendly and welcoming. Looks like they operate in their own home. If you want authentic tacos and a local experience without the tourist price, then this is the place. Highly...
