Review in English:
My husband and I had the pleasure of having breakfast at Café Montejo, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We stumbled upon this place while looking for a good breakfast spot in Mérida, and we feel so lucky to have found it.
We both ordered chilaquiles with eggs and mixto salsa; covered in both red and green salsa, along with a guava juice and a pineapple juice. The food was delicious, full of authentic flavor and perfectly balanced.
The atmosphere is welcoming and cool, even under the heat of the sun, which made our experience even more enjoyable. But what truly set this place apart was the exceptional service. The servers were working incredibly hard, juggling multiple tables while maintaining a warm and professional attitude.
We especially want to recognize Gabby, who took care of us with patience and kindness. She not only helped us understand the menu but also gave me the chance to practice my Spanish, speaking slowly and gently correcting my pronunciation. I truly appreciated that, and it made our visit all the more special.
The entire team at Café Montejo works incredibly hard, and it shows in the quality of their service. We don’t know how their efforts are recognized internally, but their dedication and commitment to their guests are worthy of appreciation and reward.

Read moreWe had our fourth visit to Cafe Montejo for breakfast and, as expected, the service, quality and quantity of food was excellent. We had a chance to meet the owner - a gregarious and kind gentleman that gave us a brief history of the restaurant and from whence he came. We experienced a welcome thunderstorm while sitting under the table umbrellas in the spacious courtyard, enjoying the ambiance of the restaurant and Mérida as if we were singing in the rain. This is a restaurant not to be missed when...
Read moreUnfortunately I do not get why this place has so many great reviews as we were very disappointed. The ambiance was amazing, but the food is very disappointing. We had baguettes and the waiter said they came with "papas", so I was expecting either french fries or roasted potatoes... but they served with cheap crisps that you can get at the supermarket— not the kind I’d expect to have as a side dish in a restaurant. The drinks choices were good, but the frapés were just okay as well. I’d not...
