A lovely quaint bakery just across the Parque de Santiago. The assortment looks lovely and it's great to see how much effort is put into the dishes and coffee. I'm going to be frank here, though. We ordered a tiramisu chocolate cake, a violet macaron and a passion fruit Charlotte Russe. The tiramisu cake was the absolute winner here: soft, not too heavy, nice chocolate and cream taste. The passion fruit Charlotte russe still can use some work: maybe a bit less gelatin, eggs beaten more and a swirl of passion fruit and lemon to give it a kick or refreshing center. The violet macaron was a bit "soap-tasting", mostly because it was paired with dark chocolate - it felt like the violet needs to amp up its power to emerge from the chocolate. I'd rather the violet would be paired with some fruity (black- or blueberry or cream/white chocolate-like ganache). It would make it a bit more subtle I think. Well, aside all this commentary, it's very nice to see such effort into cakes and coffee in Mérida. Their cappuccino is amazing though, I can really recommend.

I chose to come here based on the high Google rating. The place looks cute and the desserts look amazing...however, that's where the good part stops. I ordered an americano and the flan parisino. It was the worst dessert I've ever had. It was topped with an extremely hard "merengue" that was impossible to cut into. The outside tart crust tasted so bad. It tasted like refrigerator. You could tell this thing had been in the dessert fridge for days. I only ate the inside flan part, which was almost tolerable. The coffee did not taste good either, probably the worst I've had in Mérida. They should not sell old desserts. Disgusting. Also extremely expensive. Service was ok but nothing special. Would not recommend and I would not come back. No hay placer en Placer & Delirio.

This small cake and coffee shop next to the Museum of Chocolate is not just open until late (with the handwritten sign outside indicating a 22:00 closing time), but had a surprisingly large selection of cakes when we dropped by around 20:30. First things first: I really liked my double espresso. As for the main attraction: out of the cakes I tried, I definitely preferred the tiramisu one. The passion fruit cake could have done with a bit more zest (and a bit less density), whereas the violet macaroon had - and this is going to sound unfair - a little too much violet. That said - the good selection of baked goods, the friendly staff and the cosy courtyard make this place worth a visit.

Tried to make me receive a dish 15 mins after been served somewhere else due their mistake. Also had to ask the chek several times so I could leave. On top of it they claim I was rude, just because I didnt like the intention of them trying to make me receive cold food. Poor poor attention. On top of it lying bout their behaviour, the dish was done quickly, served somewhere else, then brought to me again. It wasn't a delay in preparation, don't try to make it sound like if it was something it was not. And I wasn't rude, you just insisted in making me receive a dish after been sitting 15 mins on its own. That means it was served, served, not prepared. You delivered it to somewhere else, it wasnt that it took forever to make. Please acknowledge your actions. And don't blame customers for not being happy and with a fake smile on your errors. Also, listen and respect don't force things on...
