Chili's — Restaurant in Mérida

Where do you start, we went here just as it was close to hotel and we'd eaten at a lot of places near us already and many places aren't open on Mondays. We'd tried to avoid chili's because well, seems odd going to chili's in Mexico. Wish we had avoided it. First thing, there are likely some sewage and water issues. There is a slight smell, should have left. (Sewage) Told myself to be more open minded old building etc. The bathrooms do not have water easily to wash your hands, took a while for there to be any. The tables were sticky and clearly had something leftover on them, again why was I still here? But we had wipes and cleaned ourselves. We ordered mostly sides in an attempt to get things we felt we would eat. Some came wrong (gave is seemed vegetables rather than grilled), mashed potatoes they chose to add a sausage gravey too that was basically jello looking, not to mention we didn't ask for gravy. The corn is soggy and there is little to no flavor. I could to on, but what's the point. This restaurant makes American/Canadian chili's I've been to seem high end. Won't be back, no matter how close...

The Chilis in Mexico isn’t a Texmex restaurant like in the US, it’s mainly “American” food. The servers are great. My mashed potatoes were cold, they took my plate and reheated the entire plate so everything else was then over cooked, but no one is perfect! The food was flavorful, my Uber driver recommended I get the sweet corn which I did and really enjoyed. It was on the cob and is much softer than the corn I’m used to in Minnesota. The drinks were VERY light on alcohol, in fact we weren’t sure our Paloma or Margarita contained any alcohol. They were playing the NFL playoff games which is why we went to this particular restaurant in the base of the Fiesta Americana hotel. The game is in Spanish without the possibility of closed caption and you cannot hear it over the loud music. I wouldn’t recommend for watching NFL football. Go to Hennessy’s for that! Thd chicken wings are delicious. I had to wait because the waiter forgot to oder it and ordered my drink. Ater he gave me a seat at the bar. I decided to move to a booth. Trying to get his attention. He didn't notice me and wondered off. Another waiter took my drink order. Waited and no chicken wings. So on facebook waiting. It is way after 9 pm and walking to my place in a few .... so guys where is the chicken wings at least 20 minutes on facebook.
