Please don't waste your time or money at this restaurant! The food is very poor quality, expensive and tasteless, the wait staff (and possibly the owner) doesn't care and the whole experience was not good. Go elsewhere!
Like others, we chose to go to this restaurant because of the little balconies overlooking the church. That is this restaurants only redeeming quality. We were seated and ordered our drinks (which they got wrong), then waited quite a while for someone to come back and take our food order. We ordered two entrees (pasta carbonara and risotto with shrimp and mussels) and an appetizer (beef carpaccio). While waiting for our food we observed a gentleman sitting at the small 4 or 5 seat bar (right next to us) that might have been the owner. He was there with his younger companion, but instead of paying attention to her, he kept watching the staff and the customers and then would walk around to observe the customers he couldn't see from the bar and talk to the ones that he knew. He marched around the restaurant as if he was important. If he was the manager/owner, he didn't seem to care about any issues that occurred. The table near us was complaining about their food and the service, and he never tried to assist with the situation.
Our entrees finally came. The risotto with shrimp and mussels was very disappointing. One of the four mussels didn't open and should not have been served, the risotto was cold and tasteless and the shrimp was questionable at best. The pasta carbonara was even worse. It was also cold and the pasta was overcooked and all stuck together. The whole dish was completely tasteless. Literally a frozen microwave dinner would have been FAR better than this dish. We both ate some of our meal, but chose not to eat the rest. We complained to the waiter that the meals were cold and without any taste. The waiter just took our plates without any apologies, nothing offered in it's place, nothing at all (and the gentleman at the bar observed this and did nothing). After all of this our appetizer finally arrived (well after our entrees were served). Already disgusted with this place, we thought maybe at least this dish would be good. This was the worst dish yet. The beef(?) was cold and mushy and had more of a casserole/soupy consistency with cheese on top. We only took one bite each of that and pushed it away. We again told the waiter that the food was not good, and again got the same response (or lack thereof). We thought maybe they would have an ounce of customer service and at least discount our meal if not comp it all together. Nope. Not a single discount, not at apology, nothing (except now being treated poorly). Again, the gentleman at the bar saw and heard all of it and did nothing. So we paid the expensive bill with no tip and left. They clearly don't know how to provide good wait staff, provide good food or how to provide good customer service. Huge waste of time and money. We ended up going downstairs to another much, much better restaurant for a...

As for the menu, it is a delightful homage to Mayan culture, showcasing traditional flavors with a contemporary twist. Each dish is a journey through rich culinary heritage, and the attention to detail in presentation is remarkable. The food is absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Margaritas. Strong and tantalizing, they perfectly complement the robust flavors of the food. Sipping on one while soaking in the lively ambiance made for an unforgettable experience.
If you happen to visit during Jalan Pixan (Dia de Muertos), do not miss the chance to try the Pib. This traditional Mayan dish, reminiscent of a tamale but with unique twists, embodies the spirit of the celebration. It’s rich, savory, and truly a feast for the senses.

Read moreServer was rude from the start. We ordered guacamole to start and asked for more time with the menu. Once we ordered our main, it should have been any minute our appetizer came out however it never did. After about 30 minutes of waiting, our main, pizza margherita, came out. (Still have not received our appetizer) which we reminded the server at this time. The pizza was cold and bland, I wanted to send it back however, being that it had now been almost an hour, and no appetizer we were hungry and did not want to wait anymore. Once we finished the pizza the guacamole finally arrived. This was decent, however chips seemed stale.
Once we finished we asked for the bill. It was wildly expensive for the quality and the service, however we chose to eat there so we had no problem paying. Being in the service industry ourselves, we are generally very generous with tips, however with the cost of the food, quality and extremely poor service, I decided that we would tip below average, however still leave something.
When the server took the money, he quickly came back and pointed to the bill and explained it is expected to leave 10% (we left about 8%) and left the bill for us to pay more. I then took that opportunity to tell him our pizza was cold, you forgot our appetizer and you were rude. He replied 'ok bye'. And we left.
We have been in Mexico for about a week, visiting many places across the Yucatan and this was BY FAR the worst food we have tried and the most expensive.
We had food on the side of the road that cost us under $10 for 2 and it was 100 times better than this place.
I highly do not recommend it. Do not waste your time and money here. So many other wonderful...
