My parents and I both booked superior rooms with double beds.

Pros: -Clean rooms, comfortable bed, working bathroom and room lights. Water is provided. The staff(with one glaring exception) was friendly and helpful and provided directions when asked. Wifi works. The courtyard is beautiful. The A/C in the room works well. Location is very central. They were willing to store our bags after checkout. We didn’t use the pool so I cannot comment on it, but it looked pretty.

Cons: -Our maid(Doris) was very aggressive on the two days that I needed to stay alone in the room past 11:00am or 12:00pm. I have an invisible disability, and also got sick on the second to last day of the trip, so I needed to rest for a little more than normal those days. The first time, she would not stop knocking, did not respond to in-Spanish requests to come back in an hour, claimed not to speak English, and tried to hurry my out of my room when I made the mistake of unlocking the door for her (as I thought there was a miscommunication). Luckily my husband came back and she listened to his request to come back in an hour(he is an English only speaker and she spoke to him in partial English). The second time she knocked for a full five minutes, again did not listen to my request to come back, and actually unlocked my door and left it slightly open before leaving. She then gave toilet paper, towels, and water to my dad who had come by with medicine and said she was not going to clean the room today. I am unsure why she chose to target me as she responded to other family member’s requests to come back and I had no interactions with her outside of my room. We went on early trips every other day and were gone on a short trip overnight, so we were hardly in the room all the time.

-This is a historic building, so the rooms aren’t sized the same; my parent’s room was significantly bigger, while most of that space in our room was given to our bathroom. The tiles on the floor, while safe to walk on, are worn down and in some places stained. The shower is also worn down and does not drain well. The room is plastered, but there are bulges, cracks, and a few stains (to be fair, it is hard to maintain good plastering in a tropical environment). A few wall tiles in the bathroom were also damaged, and our toilet paper holder didn’t work. Sheets had some stains on them.

-No fridge, iron, or closet is provided and there is significantly reduced space to hang your clothes. My parents had a coffeemaker but we did not, so that may vary depending on your room.

-My parent’s room did not have mosquitoes, but ours did. However, they fumigated the room when we complained and it seems to have worked.

-Hot water is scant (but this seems to be a common problem in Yucatan hotels?)

-There was some noise in our room at night, but a LOT of noise in my parent’s room. However, they did not mind as they knew that would be the case when they booked due to...

During my recent stay at a hotel located in the heart of Centro, I had an overall pleasant experience, though a couple of aspects could use improvement.

Firstly, the restriction on early check-in and late check-outs was a bit disappointing. While this policy might vary based on individual requirements, it would certainly enhance convenience for guests if some flexibility were offered, especially for those traveling with tight schedules.

On a more positive note, I stayed in room 218, which featured a comfortable double bed and was remarkably spacious. The quietness of the room, combined with the soothing sound of water flowing from the pool below, made for an inviting atmosphere conducive to relaxation. The bathroom was nicely sized as well, which added to the comfort of our stay.

The amenities in the room were satisfactory. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable, allowing me to stay connected effortlessly. Additionally, the TV provided good entertainment for downtime.

Kudos to the housekeeping staff—each day they ensured our room was immaculate and well-stocked with essentials like shampoo, toilet paper, soap, and lotion. Their friendly service truly deserves a tip of appreciation!

However, I found the reception personnel to be rather dry and lacking in warmth. A smile and personable approach can significantly elevate the guest experience, especially in an environment filled with travelers seeking a friendly atmosphere.

Despite the minor drawbacks, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again. Its prime location and spacious rooms are compelling reasons, and with a bit more attentiveness from the front desk staff, it could become a perfect getaway in the bustling center of the city. Overall, I would rate my experience positively while highlighting the potential for improvement in guest...

Location, location, location...if you don’t mind the noise. Room 209 We loved our stay! This is a block away from the main plaza so every night there was something to see. Restaurants everywhere and if you’re into street food there’s twice as manny of those than restaurants. This is the good, now for the bad. We had the best room in the house, by my estimation, a second floor double with two windows to one of the plazas. The street below us was closed off to vehicle traffic so pedestrians were densely packed into the early morning hours. Noise could definitely be heard all night. We didn’t mind though; we were so tired we knocked out. Another bad is the parking situation which is three stop lights away. Parking closes late at night and reopens in the morning. If you need your car between then the hotel can open the lot, but it’s a drag. Parking is at Calle 61 #491, in case you’re wondering about location. Lastly, not all rooms are created equally. My kids’ room was a level below us in what I would call a hobbit hole; no windows, have to hunch down to climb stairs. The finish was nice but the bathroom door was difficult to close. Albeit, this room was definitely quieter than one with windows so if you don’t want the noise, this room might suit you well. All in all, we would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to be in the middle of things, don’t mind noise, and want to experience Merida culture. Personally I liked the window room.

My family and I recently stayed here and although there can be some improvements, we were satisfied with our stay. The front desk service was exceptional at all times; absolutely no complaints there. I loved that they were flexible with adding another day when I asked last minute if I could stay another night, they were able to accommodate me right away and respect the same price I had initially payed. There are some aspects of the location that look really nice such as the 3rd floor balcony, and the pool which was really nice and relaxing. The only improvement we would suggest is for better water pressure for the shower, because the one in the room we stayed on had poor water pressure. There could be other cosmetic improvements to cleanliness and aesthetics, but then again this hotel is a very reasonable price for what you are getting. The Hotel is also situated a block away from the park that has the MERIDA sign. The hotel is also surrounded by souvenir shops and restaurants. The hotel also provides information on tours which are ok, but across the street there is more information on other tours.
