I used to eat here every month before covid hit. The food was well beyond good. I'd bring visitors to try it. While the service is still good, the food is not. We were there at dinner time. There were only 2 other tables of guests besides us. I ordered grilled chicken with grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. When the food came out, I was disappointed. Very small portion on the plate. The potatoes were not mashed. They were squares cut up, soaked in oil. A lot of oil. No seasoning. Not even salt. The vegetables were not mixed like on the menu. It was 4 slices of carrots.... and 2 bites of something I did not recognize... in oil. Not seasoned. The chicken, well... it was chicken. The problem was that it was actually seasoned. But, it was all salt! Too salty to eat. I had only taken a few bites of each item and realized I couldn't eat it. It was disappointing. I asked for a box to go (to give to the street dog by my house). My partner had lasagna & said her food had no flavor. We got hers to go too. The waiters were concerned when we did not eat but asked for boxes. They were so nice and we did not want to complain. It was not their fault. They were great. We just told them we were late for somewhere so they wouldn't feel bad.
The restaurant is pretty expensive, and no longer worth the price. Unfortunately I will no longer recommend it to my friends. I have no problem paying for expensive food but it must be edible. It's so sad too because I used...
Read moreMy friends flew into Merida. My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time in May. I wanted to share the experience with my friends. I made a reservation for four people. When we arrived I went to the podium. No reservation found After they seated us I ordered two Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and two New York steaks. One rare steak and one medium rare. We waited nearly an hour for our food. The fettuccini Alfredo was fettuccini Mediterranean. The steaks were horrible. Mine was so overcooked and grisly I couldn’t cut it. His was underdone. I couldn’t get the waiters attention to correct the situation. I had to go across the restaurant to speak him. They took our steaks away. The guys ate the unwanted incorrect fettuccine. I was bought another steak it was even worse than the first one. Definitely not rare. It was now 2 hours later. Still no dinner. We finally ordered a fettuccine Alfredo which was decent but definitely not a thick creamy Alfredo. The steaks were $390 pesos each. The quality was horrible. They took it off the bill. We paid for the incorrect fettuccine that was served. The music was so loud we could barely hear each. The music was not good either. All in all it an awful evening thanks to Amaro. I will never ever go...
Read moreThe service and vibe of this place is really nice, however the quality of the food really let's it down, especially for the price. I had empanadas for the starter which were pretty good, however I was super disappointed with the hamburger that I ordered for a main (I forgot to take a photo because I was so hungry and couldn't wait to start) the hamburger was very simple, just a bun and lettuce with tomato and onion, and an ok piece of bacon, but the really sad part about it was the beef patty - it was the type that had been thawed out from a premade packet - for almost 200 mxn you expect something better than a once-frozen packet patty. The sauces were little packet Heinz ones, nothing handmade either. The orange juice was also not natural, which there's really no excuse for in Mexico, especially for 40mxn/glass. For the service and atmosphere I would give this place a solid 3.5 or 4/5, but the food is unfortunately no...
