Wow. This was my first experience in Mexico City as a whole and I have to say, this place blew me away. I was introduced to so many new things.
I came to Mexico City in particular to be in the “uncomfortable” forcing myself to speak my “beginner to intermediate” Spanish. Honestly, the workers here not only helped me with speaking Spanish but were literal teachers as well. Truly made me feel at home and helped me learn.
To the true review of the place itself: beautiful storefront. Greenery everywhere, open, soft, an inviting. The workers, attentive, quick, polite. The general atmosphere of the entire place made the visit so worth it.
Now the only reason I have the food that 4 start is because, my partner and I both got things. Rustic Pizza was my choice, absolutely delicious, especially paired with the on hand oils and peppers. Too good!
However my partners dish, the baked chicken, it wasn’t good. Actually it was flavorless (sorry guys), it was a shock considering how crazy good the pizza was but, they gotta do something about that chicken breast…oh and the calamari was delicious too, but over cooked.
Overall the food was still great. It was just the chicken that through us off, and the calarmi being a tad overcooked but still delicious like the pizza.
Overall, yes I’d highly recommend this place. Oh and to new comers like me beware of lots of ppl advertising stuff. May be common but it’s my first time out here so i didn’t know, it gets annoying but you can usually politely ask them to step away.
Cancino, you were worth all the...
Read moreWe just finished eating here and I cannot recommend this place. The food overall was ok but the service was horrendous! We had fried calamari to start and they were ok. Nothing good, nothing bad. Then we ordered two pizzas and waited. Eventually one pizza came out and the other one never did. Pizza was pancetta with maple syrup which we asked for to be on the side. The maple syrup was so on the side that it actually never made it to the table The second pizza was Gorgonzola and pears and I can only assume that they had to grow the pears cause we sat and waited for it. Saw other tables come and go and our pizza was like the maple syrup: not to be seen anywhere. We asked 4 different people and when it finally came out, I asked: did you go get the ingredients from Spain or what? That particular server was the only that apologized. There was mix up in the kitchen. Which is totally fine but keep the customer in the know. I asked for the check and then we sat and waited some more. I actually saw our server: Faty serve another table after the hostess asked her to bring us our check. I don’t know if she was having a bad day or what. She came by the table once to introduce herself and then never saw her again. At the very least, Faty needs to be sent to server school or something because her customer service was zero to...
Read moreDisorganized, robotic service unlike many of the restaurants in the area.
Twice now we've gone and they've forgotten part of our order. Both times, even the tables next to us asked us why they got their order first when they sat down after us (one table literally ordered the same dish).
They also bring out your order in no logical sense. Cocktails 30 minutes into sitting down. Appetizers at the same time as the main course. We had to refuse one of our cocktails because they brought it at the end of the meal. Of course they tried to charge us for it, but we refused and had them correct the bill. They also run out of ingredients for cocktails regularly and bring you something you didn't ask for and try to charge you for it (why not ask us first if we want the substitute?).
Despite having so many waiters for the size of their space, they're still disorganized. No waiters seem genuinely interested in paying attention. We noticed other tables had to scream for any attention and they had to do it over and over like us, because the same mistakes kept being made.
A place where people see and can be seen. If your goal is to look "cool" this is your place. If you want a proper experience, look elsewhere.
Sadly, we won't be returning even though we...
