El Bajío — Restaurant in Mexico City

I am not usually a review writer but I had such a terrible experience I felt almost obligated to write one. ROBERTO our waiter was in a terrible mood and provided a service so horrible here I am writing this review. Being in Mexico we are respectful about the culinary culture of this beautiful country. Knowing this we informed Roberto of our dietary limitations i.e. no pork/pork products, this is a habit we have developed as we understand this is a common ingredient in Mexican cuisine. Once the food arrived there were beans cooked with lard on the dishes we ordered. When we tried to address this, Roberto said we never told him anything and had a "sucks for you" attitude about the issue. We also noticed he was not as attentive with our table as he was with other tables. We still tipped at checkout because the food was great. Mal lugar para comer. The truth is, most of the staff has a poor attitude, showing little to no interest in offering an authentic Mexican experience. The service lacks soul, and the food is bland and flavorless. To make it worse, they have the audacity to present these meals in insulting portions and pretentious presentations. Compared to other locations of the same brand, this one clearly reflects a lack of interest and poor management. This speficif team, cheff and service staff are not familiar with proper temperature servings or apparently lack the technology to heat the food and beverages The dessert was AN ABSOLUTE INSULT.

It all relies on the location, which makes it even more disappointing there’s no sense of national pride or professional...

Definitely not my favorite, not do I expect I'll visit and of their many locations in the future. It's nice decorates (like most places here), prices are decent, food was average, but for me the dinning our experience is about the service and this place was greatly lacking... we felt rushed to order without even having a look at the menu... then the food came in waves leaving my son without his food until we were almost done (we couldn't we wait for him any longer!)
