Oh my, where to begin? If even one thing about this place had been decent, I would have given it two stars.
Food and Drink: Terrible. We ordered lassis, which were far too watery, and the Shahi paneer was so watered down and used so much tomato that it tasted like eating steamed paneer in a tomato soup. Our butter naan and butter roti were served without butter.
Service: Extremely slow and inattentive. Our waters were never refreshed, and at no point did we receive paper napkins. I ended up getting up and taking napkins from another table. Who doesn't provide napkins for food that you eat with your hands? We were also one of only 4 tables in the entire restaurant, so there is really no excuse for this level of inattention
In conclusion, skip this place. Mexico City has so many great restaurants that it's not not worth going here to eat bad food and have your table neglected. If you are Indian, definitely don't go here - you...
Read moreBecause the service of the staff is not like Indian restaurants at all. Actually in MEXICO other restaurants services are so smiley & feels good because only food is not important!! You gotta feel good while having your meal)) food is amazing at this place but services is worst!! 1 more thing order your NAAN at lest 30 minutes before because I just been to the restaurant Friday & only 4 table was occupied out of 50 & on Saturday I been only 10 tables was busy from 50 but staff still try to hide in the kitchen or ignore when you want them to get you water also!! I took special thali both the time & they didn't serve me water also & both the time when they just gave me thali after waiting 30-40 minutes I asked them naan but both the time naan took 25 minutes & 30 minutes (I hope the restaurant owner open his eyes to see what's his staff is doing otherwise this good food kitchen might be shut...
Read moreI have to say I am happily surprised to find an authentic Indian restaurant in such an well located place in the heart of Mexico City. You can enjoy from the restaurant the zocalo view eating great authentic home taste freshly made Indian food. It is fully vegetarian and the variety is broad. The first and second floor are furniture and clothing sections while on top you have the restaurant. It would have a 5 star if I they would have the dal makhani that this particular day ran out and it would be great if they had South Indian food as well. The one thing I really missed that I wish I could have seen there since they have so many great things from India was a corner specialized for Indian groceries, spices tea, Garam masala, instant food for like dosa, iidli, puris to fry, Indian snacks and such would be great in addition to cooking and table ware. if they would have them this place...
