What happened? This used to be our favourite place to eat in DF (pre pandemic). We were so excited to return and even though the lagging reviews were pointed out to us we attributed it to stuck up tourists who don't understand local foods. This is my 8th visit to DF and I have travelled throughout all of Mexico and most of Central America extensively. WE WERE WRONG... the reviews were accurate!
With only 2nd year University Spanish... I get by. But couldn't help but notice being glowered at by 2 of the employees while ordering. I assumed that they had been treated poorly by tourists and decided that I would treat them as kindly as I could to help make up for it. After chatting one of them up for a bit I did get a smile but the other person continued the glower. Meh, everyone has a bad day right? So we ordered our food. We were SO excited while we waited. It arrived. Is there a new owner? What happened to the most amazing tortas in DF? These were NOT them! My niece couldn't even bring herself to taste it because the smell of the meat. I did taste it and... well... that was all I could bare. It was the gamiest (is this a word?) meat I had ever had (and I grew up with meat that was from hunting trips!). It was simply terrible. My nephew forced himself to eat half the torta because he was super hungry and worried it would take us some time to find another place. Guess who ended up with an upset stomach? Yeppers! My nephew. Jugos Canada.... please go back to what you once where and for the love of all that is holy stop what you are doing now! PS.... hot dog slices on my torta? ew. Grainy licuados? ew. It doesn't matter how cute the location is or how the staff is if the food is inedible. I recommend that you all find somewhere else to eat.... the reviews are...

Read moreWhen I was living in Mexico I used to go there often. They prepare fresh juice of several kinds and mixes with freshly squeezed fruits. All for a super decent price (please leave a tip). Thw place is decently cleaned and I think they are hygienic in...
