May 18th - May 23rd 2024. Got to this Ritz hotel at 11:00 am, went to check in Christopher said room will it be ready at4:00 pm we asked him if he could see our reservation for the breakfast that we had paid for with Expedia he told us he could not see anything until we check in at 4:00 pm.|We went to look around the area then came back at 4:30 pm. Christopher was there he just ignored us we had told Francesco we came earlier to check in and now we are back we told him our breakfast is included because we had already paid for it through Expedia but no information was passed on to Francesco from Christopher. Also Francesco was very rude to us and kept on saying No you have not paid for the breakfast so rude no compassion at all also Rosa was there as well front desk manager but she never intervened No help at all.|We called Expedia for 2 hours we was trying to sort this out with No help from any of the staff. They are rude as well as the breakfast staff. I called the front desk from my room they do not answer the phone and if they do they put the phone down, once I called for an iron and board Francesco said he will bring it he never did!! Customer service is NOT there at all No Empathy for a human being.we talked to Jimena she told us a manager would get in touch with us after all these problems but never did. We’ve traveled the world but the staff very rude does not give 2 hoots also the hotel is ran down bathrooms disgusting no soap for shower they don’t fill it, shower no pressure and you have to let it run 15 minutes to get hot water,no batteries in remote. You only get 2 bottles of water per room if you want more then you have to pay for it.if.|The Bellmen are Great and very helpful indeed Jesus is one of them looks like they need to be in management and not the others. We are still waiting on management to call us and there has not been any follow on our stay!!|We tried to get there corporate phones numbers and emails but to no avail!! |Do Not stay at this hotel unless you want these...

To be frank, this cannot be a 4-star hotel. I would say this is maybe a 3 star hotel, or even 2 stars, and here are the positives and negatives. It’s certainly not worth the price if you ask me.

Positives: The location and the staff are the best thing about this place. Amazing and very safe location on the main strip of Centro and a few minutes walk from Zocalo. Very professional and kind staff who are bilingual. Great housekeeping service. The bed is very comfortable.

Negatives: This room is not at all soundproof nor lightproof. It’s difficult to get a good night’s sleep, even with an eye mask and ear plugs. You can hear everything happening in the corridor, in the lobby and outside. Most nights it was impossible to sleep until midnight as there were parties in other rooms, or sounds coming from the lobby or street. There is construction currently going on in the hotel which would often start early in the morning and wake us up. Light also fills the room partially all night (from the street) as the bathroom door is completely frosted glass, which amplifies the street lighting into the room very brightly.

The lifts also have broken buttons that definitely need replacing.

The corridors also stretch far from the lift in odd, non-intuitive directions that make it hard to figure out where your room is or where the lift is (and there are few to no signs directing you). Some very strange construction choices have been made in renovating...

No parking- closest was almost $600 pesos/night, poor view because I didn't pay extra, service was friendly, but not above and beyond. No coffee maker, face cloths, fridge, microwave..... One guy was very kind and talkative, but seemed that the other staff made it tense, like I was hitting on him or something- no common area for guests to speak or hang out. Very safe for a single woman travelling alone, though, never felt unsafe or taken advantage of. Most everything a tourist would want to see is close enough to walk. No a/c in room but fans in every room and climate was great. Definitely felt like a guest, but not at home. No one really talked to me, my Espanol is not great, but no one tried too hard. Wings at dinner were burnt, but not native cuisine b/c I was having a rough stomach day. Water pressure was good, no unexpected charges, rating is based on comparison to other hotels in MX, but didn't stay anywhere else in city. RIGHT downtown, so very busy and loud outside, which would've been better if I could see the street. Not sure why a mostly empty hotel would give such a bad room (view) to a guest- I booked almost 5 months in advance. Still, not much else to complain about, so medium rating. Guess I just have higher expectations for...

This guy Salvador is the rudest person ever. I had my reservation since the 5th and he said I had to wait until the 6th at 3 pm to enter to the room that I have already paid. He didn’t care I suffer from epilepsy and have seizures when I don’t sleep properly, he didn’t care about me and made me sleep in a chair until it was finally check in time.
