We loved this place and came twice in our stay in the city, should have been more but we wasted a breakfast trying somewhere less good. As our first time travelling a Spanish speaking country we weren't sure what to expect when practising our ordering however the wait staff were so patient (and forgiving of our bad pronunciation!) they have a menu available in English but the staff are far from fluent(why should they be?!) The food was amazing each visit and the cafe con leche was delivered in a way you could choose your amount of coffee before the warm milk is added. Superb value for money and delicious refried beans! If you're looking for breakfast in the historic centre this place should be on your list. A no frills diner style vibe full of locals and half the price of some nearby eateries. Check out their packages/ meal deals for a two course breakfast and drink for under $150 per person!

A great place to eat at any time of day. I came here just for the cafe con leche and it didn't disappoint. The frijoles revueltos con huevos were delicious with the bolillo they bring to the table. The service is super friendly and food comes out fast. They also have two separate dining areas available. The bigger room has larger tables and a more diner like setting, while the smaller area feels more like a breakfast bar/cafe. There was live music in the evening the first time I came here (in the larger room) which was amazing! The group did bossanova style songs in Spanish, English, and Portuguese which made it very hard to leave the place.

Adding to the pile of glowing reviews for non-spanish speaking vegetarian tourists, this place was fabulous. The helpful staff made us feel at home after a day of drifting in at foreign land. It's a middle-class joint that's rather cramped but highly functional. There vegetarian enchiladas are delicious. So was the bolija (savory oblong bread) which is complimentary, paired with the killer Verde sauce. The Mexican hot chocolate was a little too sweet to my taste, but as are many things Mexican! A haven, in the Centro historico district.

The food was flavorless and the service took forever. I always see people at this restaurant, but they only take cash. I finally had cash on me and it was a disappointment. Waited about 15-30 minutes for a table. The waitress took forever and kept playing hide and seek, the waiting in line could have been shorter if they take orders faster. The food was bland and needed some seasoning. I liked the agua de melón. Maybe I should have ordered the daily special. I definitely will not go back and discourage anyone from going.

I always stop here when I go to Mexico city I'm giving them 4 stars because this time the waitress was very rude, she was having a hard time probably and treated me in a bad way and she was charging me for food that we never had, I let the person in charge knew about the incident and they apologized for the incident. The food on the other hand it's really good this is the first time that I was treating like this in here all of the times before I was here the waitress were really nice. I'll be back in the future again.

Way overpriced. Place to sit outside and eat some food and watch the world go by. The enchiladas were served cold. The Mole clearly had a good taste but it's not a good idea to eat cold food here. The Torta had an unidentified sauce drenched on like warm mayonnaise. Even with their high prices, they only take cash. The servers were completely uninterested that we were not happy with our food.
