La Rambla — Restaurant in Mexico City

Started out fine - placed our orders and waited for food. It was a Tuesday night so the place was very empty and quiet. About 30 minutes later the waiter informed us the dish we chose was not available, so we had to order something new and start the waiting process over again. There were no other customers so I’m not sure why it took 30 minutes to determine the kitchen couldn’t make our dish. Some time later the new order arrived - the chicken fajitas were rubbery, soggy, and flavored in tomato sauce, rather than spiced and grilled to a crisp. They were served without tortillas or any of the usual sides.

Shortly after the food arrived it became apparent that the staff wanted us to leave so they could go home because they started blasting music so loudly you could not have a conversation with the person next to you, singing, and stacking all of the chairs around us. Honestly, the food was mid-tier and not cooked to order, however this place still deserves 4 stars. The staff is extremely welcoming and take their job seriously; they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. We wound up here accidentally, after realizing we needed to eat and it was getting late and we needed something close to us. An accident, sure, but not a mistake by any stretch of the imagination. There was live music, and although there were only about 10 people total in a space enough for 80, nearly every table of couples was dancing. It was so endearing. Está de no creerse la mala experiencia que pase en este lugar que parece está secuestrado por meseros con la peor actitud que he visto en todo el país. Primero tardaron más de 15 min en tomarnos la orden de bebidas y casi una hora en llevarnos la comida (aún cuando la solicitamos 2 veces). El lugar estaba al 25% de su capacidad, muy vacíos pues. Cuando llego el primer platillo el mesero nos llevo lo que el quiso de las opciones que había, nunca nos pregunto. Como nos llevo algo que no quería tardo 13 minutos más en llevarnos el platillo correcto. El segundo tiempo nunca llegó para mi y otras 3 personas (éramos una mesa de 7 personas) al aclararle al mesero este nos dijo que ya nos los había llevado y que si queríamos repetir nos cobrarían más. Al decirle que nunca nos llevo la comida nos dijo mentirosos, todo un desastre. Al final nos llevo un taco partido en 3 y nos dijo que nuestro platillo se había agotado y era lo que había (unos minutos después vi que llevaban ese platillo a otra mesa). Al pedir una bebida a otro mesero este nos dijo que solo le ordenáramos a nuestro mesero y se fue. El platillo fuerte súper simple y sin chiste. Al preguntar por postre nos dijo que se habían agotado (a las 5 pm) y minutos después vino cómo llevaron un flan a otra mesa. Al reclamar el mesero dijo que ir no sabía que ya había.
