The staff here was very rude, and discriminative. I made a last minute reservation, it was confirmed according to my email. I have screenshots to prove it. Anyways! My friend had arrived to the restaurant before we did and went to ask for a table for 4 before we arrived. She also told me that she felt a little underdressed, since she just came from work. She inquired, and immediately without even looking at her computer told her there was none left and so she walked away. I then looked at the reservation and it was still active and we even arrive about 10 minutes early. I went up to the woman at the front and told her we had a reservation, I looked right at her and stared as she whispered in her coworkers ear as she saw me with the group of women including the one she had just turned away. I gave her the name, and she proceeded to tell me that the reservation was canceled. Impossible! I just had a confirmed email + screenshot of my reservation. In a very unkind tone she said yes we just canceled it, and when I asked her for a reason she couldn't give me one and just said no that they had canceled it right after I made it. Which was very untrue, I had no such email! I asked to speak to her manager but at that point I realized I didn't want to dine at racist, and discriminating environment. I knew she had turned my friend away for a very unfair reason. So! yea don't eat there, don't support this restaurant...
Read moreIn the heart of Mexico City’s Polanco neighborhood is a haven of sophisticated dining. From the moment you walk in, the lush greenery and contemporary artwork create an ambiance that whispers, “You’re in for a treat.” Service was top notch with multiple servers seamlessly tending to everything.
I began with the bread appetizer—warm, substantial, and accompanied by a trio of dipping sauces spanning a spectrum of spice and flavor. For the less adventurous, classic butter was also provided.
The salmon with caper butter was next. The salmon was a masterpiece of delicate pink, melting in the mouth with each bite. The caper butter, a rich and tangy elixir, elevated the fish to a new level.
The roasted duck tacos featured succulent and perfectly seasoned duck, encased in three equally sized soft, pliable tortillas—not too thick, not too flimsy, just right.
The pepper risotto immediately caught my eye on the menu. Creamy, bold, and remarkably peppery, it walked the line between comfort food and upscale elegance.
While I initially declined dessert, the surprise arrival of complimentary popsicles was a quirky, unexpected touch. I quickly succumbed to them. These petite treats were irresistibly delicious and a refreshing culmination to a stellar meal.
Polanco offers no shortage of dining options, but Lampuga stands out. With its impeccable food, prime service, and gorgeous setting, why...

I love their salmon dish and highly recommend the ribeye starter made into tacos. The pork shoulder is tender, juicy, and accompanied by pickled red onions, which is a favorite.
Their lemon pie is incredibly delicious.
Their cocktails are well balanced and they offer a variety of interesting combinations.
They offer a citrus popsicle at the end of the meal, which is a delightful way to end.
While the meal service staff is always kind and attentive, I’ve been to this restaurant about 7 times now and have always found the hostesses to be unkind, borderline rude. It hasn’t stopped me from coming back. I offer this information because it can be very off putting and is not in line with typical Mexican kindness. However, the food and experience is delightful, so don’t be deterred. I assume that perhaps they are used to dealing with unkind people and that be the source of...
