When planning our weekend trip to Mexico City we received several recommendations for this hotel from friends. I am thankful to each and every one of those friends because our stay at Casa Polanco was an 11/10. From the moment we arrived they made us feel at home. There is a complimentary tequila bar in the beautifully appointed “library” and a popsicle stand out on the terrace. My husband said that the ferrero rocher popsicle was dynamite. The mini bar, snacks in the room and breakfast in the morning were also complimentary. The design of the hotel was truly stunning. The green marble in the lobby was so fabulous that it made me want to renovate my kitchen and the library was so cozy and intimate that I wished it was in my house. I woke up early on Saturday morning and used the opportunity to check out the gym. It was small but well equipped with a treadmill, bike, lat machine and bench with a small assortment of weights. Not huge, but nice and it got the job done. The rooms were airy and large with wonderfully comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom with enclosed toilet area. In the evening turn down service provided accurately sized slippers and the most delicious dark chocolate butterflies. The service throughout the weekend was excellent. Every single person that assisted us was so friendly, genuine and helpful. While the hotel was walking distance to Quintonil and Pujol, there is an argument that Polanca isn’t super walkable to a lot of the other restaurants and bars that we had reservations for but I would be hard pressed to stay anywhere else on a return visit because we loved it so much.

I stayed at Casa Polanco back in February, and this review is long overdue. This hotel is truly a special place—unique, beautifully designed, and full of thoughtful details that make it feel different from anywhere else I’ve stayed. The décor strikes the perfect balance between sophisticated and warm, and every corner feels carefully considered. One of my favorite touches was the complimentary in-room minibar, which was stocked with artisanal snacks and drinks. It’s such a small thing, but it makes the stay feel generous and welcoming in a way that you don’t often find. Octavio, the owner, is often on-site, and it shows. He went out of his way to connect with guests, and his presence really adds to the charm of the place. You can tell this isn’t just another boutique hotel, there’s a sense of personal care behind it. The only area that fell short for me was the food. In a city as renowned for its culinary scene as Mexico City, the food left much to be desired. The breakfast and meals at the hotel weren’t bad, just underwhelming compared to the incredible options all around CDMX. That said, with so many fantastic restaurants within walking distance, it wasn’t a dealbreaker. Overall, Casa Polanco is a gem. It’s elegant, unique, and filled with character—easily one of the more memorable stays I’ve had in Mexico City.

I visited Casa Polanco in June 2025 for a long weekend with my friend. We stayed in a king-bed room booked through Expedia just one week before our visit. We had the most wonderful time! The hotel restaurant is so good, the breakfast food is yummy with lots of options. Snacks and food available all day. Alcohol was included in our stay which was an amazing surprise. This was my first visit to Mexico City and Casa Polanco made my stay AMAZING. The staff is WONDERFUL. They are so nice and were always willing to speak English with me which was much appreciated. It was my friends birthday and the staff put a bouquet of flowers with a very sweet note in our room on her birthday AND brought her a cake slice after her birthday breakfast. The hotel itself is beautiful, so many green trees and plants and lots of natural light. The Library is a fabulous spot to chill as well as the outside patios. The internet service was excellent, each room has its own network as well as the main hotel wifi. WE LOVED CASA POLANCO. I cannot wait to go back!!

How to start to describe a visit at Casa Polanco.... it's so good and so special it is not so easy to find superlatives strong enough to name this sublime property settled in an heritage house in the heart of Polanco, the most chic and exclusive district of Mexico where you'll find the best restaurants, the vest bars, the most beautiful boutiques and ap wonderful atmosphere. ||I'll start probably with people because without motivated, implicated and exceptional people, hospitality wouldn't be possible and I've rarely found such a fantastic hospitality that the one I've received at Casa Polanco. Everyone has just one goal]: making you special, making you feeling like at home and probably even better. Nothing snobbish, nothing making guests uncomfortable but just a team of adorable people truly looking at how to make you happy. I love a place where staff is acting naturally ND this is clearly what's happened in this Mexican hotel gem... ||I used this strong word "gem"  because Casa Polanco is definitely a piece of art where everything is sp beautiful it's impossible not to fall in love... I'm a fellow traveler and hotel lover but I have to say I haven't seen often a place like this hotel, so chic, so warm and welcoming, so perfect. Materials are exquisite and designers have got a great sense of space and elegance. Just being seated in the library sipping a margarita is one of these moments to remember. This is truly the best urban oasis possible and at the end of the day you'll even feel honored to be at Casa Polanco. ||Casa Polanco is a small hotel, only 19 keys but each opening onto a dreamy paradise. Each room or suite has got its own identity blending wonderfully contemporary design and rich historical architecture. One of the Deluxe room facing the park has git a magical graven ceiling absolutely impressive and some suites have a terrace to feel the vibes of Mexico without leaving this very intimate and special enclave. A stay at Casa Polanco includes a range of benefits like a selection of tequilas or mezcals you can enjoy anytime on the rocks or in a cocktail... drinks are all included as well as breakfast and afternoon tea at Verandah. ||For those who prefer to stay in this peaceful house, Verandah equally superbly decorated like an indoor garden offer a short selection of dishes always delicious and very fresh but it would be unfortunate not to explore the vibrant culinary scene of Polanco with Quintonil, Malix, Auna or Pujol at just a few steps. For those loving exclusive fragrances, a visit at the outstanding perfumery Xinu is a must. So yes, Casa Polanco is definitely perfectly located which is an other reason to love this place. ||I have to admit I've a true love story with casa Polanco but considering this is the quintessence of beauty and eastheticism, no doubt you'll have this...

This is THE ONLY place you should stay in Mexico City! Phenomenal. My love letter to Casa Polanco would go something like this…

Dear All at Casa Polanco- I wanted to say thank you again on behalf of myself to everyone of my friends for an incredible experience at your hotel - our home away from home for the week.

From our arrival to our departure we felt cared for and taken care of every moment day and night.

Everyone was kind, thoughtful and playful. We laughed easily with your staff and felt like we were with old friends.

Every detail you put into your hotel did not go unnoticed. Our rooms were elegant and the bedding sumptuous. The smell of fresh coffee each morning outside of our doors was a pleasant way to start the day and the tiny homemade muffin neatly tucked away in the napkin on the tray was a delightful treat...although it took all of us 3 days to notice the muffins, we delighted in their sweetness when we discovered them.

Afternoon teas were enjoyed by everyone and the light bites and assortment of beverages from tea and coffee to wine, champagne and tequilas were a refreshing start to our evenings.

When we arrived back at our home - Casa Polanco - every evening after dinner, we were always welcomed with a smile, a joke and of course your beautiful hospitality.

We enjoyed playing games we brought from home in the dining room once again, enjoying a drink and even a snack as we relaxed in (y)our home for the week. The dining room was such a beautiful setting and made us feel like we were sitting outdoors under the umbrellas and the skylight.

I am certain we will all be back with other friends, family and loved ones in the very near future and will be sure to rave about your hotel and the incredible staff you have to everyone we know.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this a most memorable trip and birthday celebration for our...

I am very glad I chose to stay here for our first trip to CDMX and will recommend it to friends that appreciate boutique accommodations. Casa Polanco is located across the street from a park and the whole area is nice for strolling, very green, dining, shops. We lived in NYC and I did not know any other city could rival the traffic there! Returning here after a day out is peaceful. There aren't huge bustling crowds in the hotel lobby, waiting for an elevator, and the staff readily offers refreshments (there are lots) that can be enjoyed in the library, indoor/outdoor feeling courtyard or in your room. We passed by the large hotel chains and all of them are bigger buildings and mostly lead out to busy boulevard areas. I had a short chat with Roberto about the building and history of the area. I mentioned it would be neat to have a photo book of the property from its early days to see the transformation. Also maybe a short history of the area (large haciendas of berry farms, several of which are restaurants now). Breakfast has a nice selection of fruits, bread/cheese, pastries, yogurt, juices, and a hot food menu. Staff is very attentive all around. The area is lively well into the night but there aren't any noisy restaurants or bars closeby. Street-facing rooms get traffic noise as that small street does get quite a bit of cars. Our shower water didn't get particularly hot. It seemed the temp control dial would only go to lukewarm. I did ask about it but it wasn't be remedied. Also the desk area could use more outlets or an extension cord (for those that sadly have to work on vaca). Overall comfortable and...
