Terrible experience here. Was told there was a wait for tables and after 10 min lead to the table that was available the whole time, then ignored by waiters throughout my meal. Asked for a glass of water that never came, and later hot sauce that they said was on the way but also never came. The worst part was waiting for the bill - after trying to wave down a waitress for 15 min I finally gave up and went inside to get my bill. When I complained that the service was terrible for the price, the waitress said they were changing shifts, with no apology. The worst part is they over charge for mediocre food and make their female staff wear little maids outfits. Apparently they can afford dry cleaning but not to fill shifts with enough staff for the tables. I still tipped as always (I’m not a monster and I understand that these problems are due to management and not the workers), but I would...
Read moreThe pictures in the photos were not an option on the menu, food was average maybe disappointing given the expectation of more variety. The waiter was rude after he saw I only tipped him 5%. Never checked on me and I had to go inside to pay and get a menu although they had seating outside. When I wanted to order a pastry and he told me I had to pay separately even though it's the same restaurant. The atmosphere looked relaxing and calm until I had three people show up while I was eating to explain philosophy and the different things they were selling. I literally had food in my mouth and they insisted on telling me about the wax replacement liquid or something. It was dead and the waiter and people working all chit...
Read moreOn a beautiful Saturday, I really wanted to love Maque Café but the food turned out to be underwhelming. We waited for outdoor seating and service was fine, but oddly paced. The orange-pineapple juice was tasty. For entrees, we had the enchiladas rojas and enchiladas enfrijoladas. They were okay, but not great. I also tried the tamal with rajas y queso and it had an odd taste, almost like it had anise in it. I’ve had many tamales with rajas y queso before elsewhere and this was unfortunately not very good. The empanada with shrimp also had an odd taste; the phyllo outside was the best part. Overall, this is a restaurant that may be better to look at than eat at,...
