Mariscos Mariola — Restaurant in Mexico City

Placed an order to go, two items. I’d forgotten my wallet so had to walk back to my Airbnb to get it, then stopped at the Oxxo in the corner to buy water, then walked back and it still wasn’t ready. After waiting another 10 min and asking them about the order and insisting it was taking too long, they finally came out with it. There were hardly any patrons at the place & all the waiters were standing around chatting. Just awful service. I only gave it another star bc the fish tacos were “ok” and a generous serving....

The food is pretty good but it's got heavy chain restaurant vibes. There are lots of TVs playing advertisements for the restaurant that YOU HAVE ALREADY CHOSEN. They are also blasting dance music. We went around noon and had issues hearing our waiter over the music. (I was with Mexicans, this was not a language barrier issue.) Plus they are trying to get you to buy drinks the whole time. At noon on a workday. Is that the vibe you are looking for? It might be fine for dinner with friends. It's a terrible...

Spoiled my Mexico City visit. I went for dinner. Ceviche appetizer was alright, but they brought me the wrong entrée (brought me tacos instead of an octopus). Granted, language was a barrier, but I was pointing right at the menu. I apologized, asked for the right thing, which took forever to make and was OK, but not great. Then they charged me for both and with obligatory tips the total was 1600... Seafood in a small, hole in the wall place in Mexico City is not...
