Great food and affordable prices. The menu is basic but has everything you expect from a taco place. The space is small but clean and the staff is friendly and patient even if you don't speak Spanish (they helped us to order and figure out the serving sizes). This is a great place for a small group of friends or lovers who don't mind a casual restaurant for a quick meal. It's walking distance from the Angel of Independence (if you're in good physical condition), so I recommend taking a walk to burn off those calories.

There are a lot of good taquerias in Mexico City and if you asked ten locals for their favorite spot you might get ten different answers. I'm not sure if El Caminero would be in any of those answers but I'm willing to bet that it's generally considered by all to be a good taqueria. They also get bonus points for having outside seating.

Fast service, fresh food, delicious. I loved that my chicken tacos were plain & I controlled how picante. Some places serve their food already sauced and muy picante! I really liked that I could get my tacos exactly the way I wanted. Good mix of locals & tourists & VERY close to my hotel. Def. recommend!

Popular with embassy staff, airline employees, and local merchants, this unimposing restaurant delivers consistently great fare at very reasonable prices. Their forté is comfort food such as tacos, enchiladas, and several other mexican "fast foods". Beer is available as well as an English menu. Staff are pleasant, patient, and efficient.
