I went here on a Saturday early evening and it was empty! I read many good reviews and I was a bit skeptical to come in seeing how empty it was. I thought perhaps it was still early. I was there for probably more than an hour and saw 1 other table.
The staff was very nice. I ordered omasake which they don’t have a set price. I paid for each piece I ate at its price. I also ordered two rolls.
Firstly, when you order omasake at an authentic Japanese restaurant, they only make 1 piece at a time. Then, once you finished your piece, they would make another one. I was overwhelmed because the chefs put multiple nigiri pieces on my plate (I sat at the bar) AFTER my two rolls also arrived. This is a big no no at sushi restaurants. You’d want your patron to take their time to enjoy the fish. I had to put a stop to the omasake. Also, they gave me the most basic pieces: salmon, tuna, snapper, and hamachi. Okay, come on!
My tuna roll was pretty good. The other roll was not. It was heavily sauced with something super sweet. I am bit of a sushi connoisseur. I watched the chef prep his rice and I’d have to say, it’s not authentic. He had some steps down which is to fold the rice as it’s still piping hot while introducing a sushi rice sauce (vinegar, sugar, water or whatever secret recipe each chef has) until you get the rice to the consistency you’d want. His folding of the rice, which I can tell by his hand motion, was way off. This is to say, might be best to order sashimi if you’re as picky as I am with my sushi rice because their fish is fresh.
Lastly, I found out 2 days later that Miru is owned by the same people who own Umai in Roma Norte. Why do I know this? Because both restaurants have the same menu but different names. I think it’s weirdly a bit shady. I’d recommend going to Umai because the vibes are...
Read moreThis is a terrible store and we had a horrible experience here. We ordered two pieces of Uni sushi, and they served us 3, and what’s worst is they charged us 250 peso per piece instead of 165 listed on the menu. Nobody told us they have a higher price, otherwise we wouldn’t even order the Uni. And honestly the Uni is very unfresh, and has this weird bitter flavor, my husband and I had diarrhea after eating at this store. Very very terrible, please don’t come...
