Palapa offered me the worst New Year's Eve ever. Several weeks before the dinner, I specified to the restaurant that we had an allergy to coriander and that one dish should not contain meat. The chef confirmed in writing that there would be no coriander and that one dish would be fish.
On the evening of the dinner, the servers insisted that our starter did not contain coriander, but it did. After checking, they announced that all the dishes had coriander and that they could do nothing else but prepare us pesto pasta with pork...
In the end, we paid 4000 pesos to eat a few pieces of tomatoes. This establishment is a disgrace to the restaurant world. I recommend the management team and especially the chef to change their profession, I think they are not in their right place. They do not realize that their incompetence could cause serious health problems for customers.
Despite everything, I would like to thank Alex, our waiter who did his best to save our evening. He deserves to become the manager of the establishment, he would do...
Read moreEverything about this place was really nice. You do have to reserve a table in advance because most of the night there is a live band, and it gets full pretty quick. Once it's full, you almost have no place to dance. That's one of the disadvantages. Apart from that, the menu for food and drinks is really great. We bought bottles and at the beginning, the server would come and make us refills in our glasses. They gave with each bottles they would give us 5 cans of about 200ml of our choice between mineral water and ginger ale and a bucket of ice. I would definitely have stayed until the end, but around midnight, it was so crowded that we took the decision to leave since there was almost no place. I still highly recommend it for a...
Read moreIt was my first time here!! This is a great place! And I’m sure in spring and summer will be even better (if you go these days bring a jacket, it could get cold in the evening) the music and ambiance go perfectly with the name of the place. The concept of the restaurant is just as it’s name describes it, a Mexican cantina with a menu full of Caribbean flavors. We had the Chamorros and the thong en salsas caribeñas and the Pavo Pibil and they were great, specially los chamorros!! The stuff is amazingly nice and they gratefully explained about the food in general or specifically the dish you’d picked. I would go back to have Chamorros! Highly...
