Playas D’ Sinaloa — Restaurant in Mexico City

This place is average at best. We live a few blocks from here and every day I walk by it’s packed with people. So we decided to try it. Well it is filled with people because it’s cheap, not because it is good quality. Still, at $800 for two people for bad tacos it’s too much when there are great restaurants all within two blocks of this restaurant for same price.

Tacos dorados come with one piece of shrimp in them. Commercial salsas from a bottle? Make your own salsa, it’s not rocket science.

Not sure why all the tacos have cheese, they should state that in the menu and make it optional. But if they did that the tacos would literally have nothing in them except one piece of shrimp.

We left half of the food without eating it.

This place has a lot of reviews so I had to try. From the outside I was skeptical but when I ordered the octopus and shrimp taco, they were fast and surprisingly delicious. My favorite was the Taco Costra de Camaron which comes with fried cheese, lettuce tomato, avocado and seasoning. The tacos were hot and fresh.

Also prices were not outrageous and service was very attentive and still relaxed. Awesome seafood spot!

Caro y sucio. Fui a comer el sábado 17. Esperé 20 minutos pues había personas esperando antes que yo. Había visto un video recomendando el restaurante y la comida se veía abundante y rica. Por tres personas pagamos una cuenta de $1,540; comimos un aguachile de camarón bastante rico. Un pulpo a las brasas frio duro y con un sabor raro, pues aparentemente venía bañado en una salsa dulce y ligeramente picante, se percibía un sabor a piloncillo. Para compartir pedí un pescado sarandeado, el costo fué de $450, un pescado bastante pequeño para dos personas, con abundante (en exceso) queso fundido, abundante cebolla y pimiento; un vaso de agua de tamarindo,tres cervezas, una cerveza con camarones, cacahuates japoneses, pepino y demas menjurjes. Por eso pagamos $1,540. Tres personas en una mesa pequeñita y sucia, donde todo se amontonaba, las mesas en la calle adornada con la basura que se movía con el viento, el servico lento y un mesero que era un verdadero vendedor, pues quería darme otra cerveza si pedirla y quería que comieramos postre, aunque ya se habían acabado y solo tenía pastel de tres leches.
