Quentin is the quintessential coffee hub of Mexico City. It's the heart of a new coffee reality taking over Mexico City with the force of a tormenta. This is a refuge of truly passionate ambassadors who make up the Mecca that is Quentin.

Say a friendly hola to Ximena, who at 21, is already considered one of the world's best baristas, winning the Mexico AeroPress Championship at the humble age of 19. She'll make you feel at home and introduce you to a world of Mexican coffee you never even knew existed.

Be served and greeted by Rory, the lifeblood of Quentin and a crucial source of its incessant charm. As the head barista, he's a huge part of the reason why coffee at Quentin is world-class.

And if you're lucky, greet Pedro, the local regular who is perhaps one of the friendliest and kindest people you will ever meet. He embodies the typical Quentin customer, engaging and inviting in the warmest way. Kindly approach him for a casual game of Uno, and there'll be very few times that he'll ever say no.

Because coffee in Mexico City is all about the people. Yes the coffee comes first: the flavours, the beans, the craft, and the culture. But it's the people who make it at Quentin who make this place...

CDMX Eats 2024 #81, Cafe/bakery #16: I definitely used to think Quentin was just hype, but after coming here twice I get it now.

Came here once with a friend to take a break, grab some cold brew, and play a few games of chess (lol).

Came a week later with a group of friends visiting to grab coffee and pastries before they headed to the airport. And, actually, came here a third time with a friend to pick up kombucha to go.

Each time, service was fast and friendly. Coffee is solid, but I don't think I've tried enough of their beverage to comment much (I've only personally consumed their cold brew). Vibes are good, but it does get pretty packed/busy. Mix of foreigners and locals. Mix of folks hanging out and working remotely.

I'd say this is probably my favorite location vibe-wise. Condesa/Amsterdam too dark and Alvaro Obregon Av Yucatan.

Would happily come back here to try more of their beverages.

Other cafes I recommend: Sonāmbulo (hipódromo), Chiquitito (condesa), Kiyo (juarez), Cardinal Casa...

This cafe is a very cute little place but unfortunately I was disappointed. I came in a little after opening time (08:10) and it was empty, I entered and waited to be greeted and stood there while the worker looked down at his phone. I then took initiative and said hello and ordered my drinks. I did ask about any pastry options as I didn’t see any on display, he then said they will be out in 40 minutes. I was very shook because if the shop opens at 08:00, why would you not be ready for customers to enjoy a coffee and pastry? I did see a box of pastry on the side but I cannot confirm if that was meant for the display or for other use. It’s ok to need some adjustment time when opening but 40 minutes is too much… I ordered a Cortado and Cappuccino and both were ok in flavor but a bit acidic. By the time I had left (≈09:15) the pastry was set up. I was a little disappointed because they did look good but it is unfortunate I didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy some...
