I travel frequently to Mexico City and I usually stay in business class, 3-4 stars hotels, so I've been at many of them. I've also stayed at other Four Points properties in the U.S. and Mexico. However, it was my first time at the Four Points Colonia Roma. This is what I liked and I didn't like so much:
LOCATION
It is great. It is located on one of the main avenues of a bohemian-chic neighbourhood. Full of restaurants, cafes, parks and safe to walk. In addition, you're a 5 to 10 minute taxi or Uber ride to all the major attractions of the city: downtown, Reforma Avenue, Polanco and Condesa neighbourhoods along with all its museums are just a short and cheap ride away. Airport is 30-45 min. away, depending on traffic.
ROOMS
Spacious, well-lit and well appointed. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Lots of space in the closet and SUPER COMFORTABLE BED (loved it!) No microwave nor refrigerator as in other Four Points properties though (so, if this is important to you, beware)
SERVICE
EXCELLENT! Kudos on this one. Everyone from the Valet Parking, Front Desk Agents and restaurant staff were very professional and accommodating.
FACILITIES
Two restaurants (one of them in a very cute rooftop terrace) and one coffee bar at the lobby that serves Starbucks coffee and pastries. Food was OK but a bit pricey for what it is (I rather suggest go to the taco joint next door).
Parking is free for guests. Believe me, Mexico City is like New York City. It is very complicated and expensive to find a place to park if you're driving a car. I've paid hefty parking fees at other hotels regardless I'm staying there. Complimentary parking is a BIG plus in town.
WiFi worked perfectly throughout the hotel.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE (But it doesn't mean is not OK):
I made use of the gym and I found the treadmill and elyptical machine kinda cheap. Though they look very new and well-maintained, I'd have preferred to see better quality cardio equipment.
The room deodorant they use is disgusting. Some might like it, but I certainly didn't
WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY:
BLACKOUT CURTAINS! The only curtains in my room were very thin and white. If you want to sleep in, forget it! You have all sunlight flooding your room first thing of the morning.
In spite the rest of the room and bathroom looked very clean, the remote controls were all dusty and there were some stains in the inner side of the white duvet. Sorry, I'm a cleanliness-obsessive. I check everything. This shouldn't happen ever!
In regards to price-value I couldn't tell since I used my Starpoints for a reward, which was a great deal.
In short, I had a really pleasant stay, except for the glitches mentioned above. I know I am a very demanding guest, so probably a regular guest wouldn't...
Read moreWe stayed here just recently, while visiting our son in Mexico City. First about the room - our was a comfortable standard double with 2 queen beds, decent size - not facing main avenue. TV got a good selection of both american & mexican station (MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, ESPN, etc.). In the bathroom - great shower(with shampoo, conditioner & bodywash provided for you on the wall), excelent water pressure and never problem with no hot water. Another surprise was a toilet with 2 types of flushes. 2 bottles of water are gratis (free), when you checked in, then it will be charged to the room (one suggestion is - there is a supermarket at the walking distance from the hotel). The closet with hangers and allways present ironing board and 2 small drawers are finishing up the description of the room. But one big problem in the room is a barn door (to close the bathroom), which basically is accident waiting to happen. Also would be nice to have a microwave oven and at least a small refrigerator in the room. Restaurant downstairs called ORRIN provided us with daily breakfast (buffet style) at $265 Pesos per person. On January 6 (Tres Reyes) or Three kings day the special cake called Rosca de Reyes was served (nice touch). The selection of food was nice (you can order omelet, also outmeal, juices, pastries, cottage cheese and a selection of mexican dishes). Service We didn't had any problems - all our requests were performed in a timely matter and to our satisfaction. On the front desk one person was outstanding - Abraham was always helpful with all our issues. Next time we will be in Mexico City, we will definetely stay at Four Points Hotel.

Read moreI had the worst customer service experience with your head night staff clerk , Mr. Daniel Fernandez and security Mr.Alfredo . I was robbed while visiting Mexico City. As a Bon Voyage member, I decided to stop at a participating hotel. To my surprise, I had a very uncomfortable and disturbing experience.
I asked several times to speak with a manager or someone who could help me locate the hotel I was staying at since my phone was stolen. Despite having proper American identification and speaking English , the representative decided to call security, which was extremely embarrassing for me. Money was never an issue, as I had my Bon Voyage credit Visa card and several other credit cards.
Mr.Fernandez , refused to help. However, one of the hotel guests kindly used her cellphone to find the hotel for me and even tried to call for assistance. I explained my situation to the representative, who repeatedly stated he wouldn’t help because I wasn’t staying at his hotel and a manager was unavailable and the hotel was completely booked.
I stayed at the City Centro by Marriott Ciudad de México. I am grateful for the help of one of your guests, but I have never experienced anything like this as a tourist in another country, especially at a member hotel. I work for a top hospital however being kind and treating others with respect should be the priority of any establishment. Feel free to reach out to me as I’m going to send this email to higher ups , since I had the worst experience at such a reputable company. Thank you for your reading and I hope in the future your staff will be more helpful to clients and...
