Me and my sister came to this restaurant looking for some good Indian food (we do this in every city towards the end of our trip). Found that the restaurant was located in a little plaza with a couple other restaurants. The location is nice since there is a terrace located one floor above the restaurant so we could hear nice music during our meal but it wasn’t too loud. One thing is the tables are a bit tall and the table and seats are both screwed into the floor so you cannot move them. I’m 5’3” so I did feel I had to sit on the edge of my seat to keep my feet on the floor but I got used to it after a few minutes.

And now the real review (the food!!) We got the kadhai paneer (asked for it spicy), garlic naan, and cucumber raita. Honestly the food was really good. I felt the aromatics really came through the paneer dish and it came out quickly. One thing is I felt the paneer itself was a bit bland as in the flavor hadn’t fully soaked in but since the gravy was good it made up for it. Also the onions in the dish were cut to a nice size. The dish also could’ve been spicier but it tasted good regardless. The Raita needed a bit of salt but it was great. Naan tasted good but the texture could’ve been a bit more well done. I thought the garlic was nice and not overpowering. The garlic was also cut finely which I appreciated.

Overall great experience, if I was back in CDMX craving Indian would definitely stop by...

What a find for Indian food in CDMX. And with that many 5 star reviews I was hopeful but doubtful as well wether the taste was really upto the liking of Indian Pallete. There are multiple Indian restaurants in CDMX but off late customer feedback is not consistent. This restaurant had good consistent feedback and on our try all the review were genuine.

I was so glad but all the food we ordered exceeded our expectation. Starter / appetizer and main course was excellent. Chai was spot on and the mango lassi was remarakable. One of the best mango lassi we ever had. We spent 3 days eating at the restaurant and we kept coming back for more. Staff is friendly and prompt and they take care of our needs. This is one of the restaurants for which you wont regret travelling to.

What happens in future I am not sure but as of now writing this it is well worth it and hope they keep it consistent.

It is located inside “Mercado Independencia“ so from outside you are never going to find it unless you have searched on google maps for Indian food. They should do something to advertise to get more attention. I have put up the photos of building hope it helps to find...

We had a truly delightful experience at Swagat. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and felt completely at ease. The service was outstanding—special thanks to Manoj, whose kindness and attentiveness made our evening all the more enjoyable.

The food was exceptional in every sense. The mango and rose lassi was nothing short of stunning—refreshing, fragrant, and beautifully balanced. The Rogan Josh was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, a true highlight of the meal. The naans and kulchas were simply superb—light, fluffy, and the perfect accompaniment to the curries.

Swagat combines authentic flavors with genuine hospitality, and it was a pleasure dining here. We will certainly be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an elegant Indian...

As longtime traveller's we were looking for some places, which bring a litttle bit taste of home. And we love Indian food in germany, even if it's harder to find in good quality in the last couple of years. So we went to Swagat for Dinner an had a great time there. We were welcomed and served by the owner, friendly and with fluent English. yes, I'm stuck in learning Spanish... We ordered Mutton Vindaloo and Tawa med.spicy, sides were garlic naan, raijta and veg.pulao rice. Everything tasted delicious, we are happy that we found this restaurant. Our beverage of the evening was Mangolassi, fresh made, not to sweet and really tasty. I would recommendnthis place and would return if we stay in CDMX for a second time.
