The taco restaurant with its bright lights and a queue has become the hotspot to the Juarez neighborhood. We visited around dinner time and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Once seated, our drink and food orders were taken promptly, and the drinks came out quickly. However, the food took an unusually long time to arrive, which was surprising for something as simple as tacos.

The tacos themselves were good, with the al pastor being a standout. The salsas were flavorful but all had a bit of a kick—there wasn’t a mild option other than the pico de gallo, which could be challenging for those who prefer a milder heat. Our server was friendly but quite scarce throughout our time there, making it difficult to get their assistance.

When it was time to pay, things took a turn. The check took forever to arrive, and when it did, we noticed charges for items from another table. Instead of correcting the mistake, the server insisted I pay the entire check with my card and that she would reimburse me in cash for the extra items. I initially thought it was a joke, but she was serious. Her explanation was that she didn’t want to approach her manager, who was already upset with her.

This level of unprofessionalism was shocking. I reluctantly paid the full amount with my card, but then she added the tip based on the total, including the incorrect charges. Although I received cash back for the incorrect items, I wasn’t reimbursed for the excess tip I had paid, which was the final straw.

It was incredibly unprofessional that a simple mistake like this couldn’t be resolved properly and that the burden was placed on the customer. This experience left a bad impression despite the decent food. It’s disappointing to see that even basic issues weren’t handled with...

I am surprised at how high the rating the restaurant has on Google! I'll start with the host experience because he was super rude. This can be for two reasons: 1st I did sit on the bar as I asked the taqueros if it was okay to sit or did I have to wait with the people waiting for a table. They said something along the line of "Yes, if you don't want a table you can just sit at the bar." I confirmed this with three taqueros and they all gave similar answers. From that point he kept giving me angry looks. Finally, one of the taqueros said to him to give me a menu because I've been there for a while (15 + minutes) and he called the waitress over. I was playing a game on my phone and it was sprinkling, so that is why I stayed so long. The waitress was a total gem! She was kind, and I could tell there was not enough wait staff. The waitress and thee taqueros get a 5/5 stars in my book! Now to the tacos, the meat was standard good - no outstanding flavor or presentation. The salsas, which I believe make or break a taco, were so bland. I tried all the options brought to me, and I had no luck. Right after having my tacos here, I was left unsatisfied, and I went to a stand right next to it - Damn! Their tacos hit thee spot and the salsa was absolutely delicious. It's very chique, and I can understand why so many people visit them, but I'd skip this place unless you want "cute taqueria" pictures...

Tacos La Chula consistently draws a crowd, there's always a line so expect a wait of approximately ten minutes to place your order. But we know a line is always a good sign of quality and tacos ls Chula is not the exception.

The tacos are a highlight, delivering tasty flavors and even "Al carbón" options. Despite the restaurant's frequent high volume, the service is reasonably fast. This efficiency is notable given the number of customers.

The kitchen is right there in the middle so you can enjoy the show from the bar while waiting for your food if you don't mind the coal smell. If you do, there's plenty of regular tables.

The menu is quite extensive. You can find several different taco options, local beverages and a wide variety of Mexican food.

You can't get wrong in this place, it offers a reliable option for tacos and other dishes. While a short wait is typical due to its popularity, the quality of the food and the relatively quick service make it a worthwhile consideration. If you're looking for a solid taco experience with a broad menu, this restaurant is a viable.

The place is open 24/7 so you will always find service...

Tacos la Chula is a fantastic find among CDMX's casual Mexican restaurants, and it's easy to see why they have multiple locations! I popped into one on a Tuesday afternoon and was genuinely surprised by how packed it was, with a lively mix of both locals and tourists. By the time we finished the line was snaking halfway down the block. The tacos are great and they've got a refreshing selection of fresh fruit juices, alcoholic drinks, and desserts. Top Pics (translated for Gringos): Gringa: quesadilla filled with melted cheese and meat. Sopa de tortilla: mildly spicy soup base with various toppings--avocado, fried tortillas, cream fresh, feta cheese, and fried pork rinds. Tacos al pastor: open-faced taco topped with "shawarma" style shaved meat and pineapple. Tacos suadero: open faced taco with thinly shaved meat usually beef (sometimes it is pork so ask if you eat halal). Horchata: delicious Mexican "sweet rice milk" with notes of vanilla and cinnamon. Very similar to Sobia (Egypt/Saudi Arabia).

Highly recommend - The ambiance of this place was so inviting, we cancelled our original plans and ate some tacos. The place was busy and we could not resist the Al pastor. The servers were awesome and ensured we were taken care of throughout our meal. Super friendly and attentive. The micheladas with Clamato was fire, make sure you get it with a Victoria beer. We ordered and before we knew, the tacos started coming back to back. I was happy with my costilla de res - no talking means I’m enjoying the goodness. Just a heads up that the portion of beans is a lot and good to share with others. I go to certain places for specific tacos and originally we can for Al pastor, but ordered other meats. The cecina and costillas de res al carbón were our favs. The salsas were fire too, especially the dark red one that had a kick to it. I definitely would recommend and I will definitely be back!
