Cancino Havre — Restaurant in Mexico City

Cancino was conveniently located across the street from our AirBnB so we went over to grab a quick meal. When we arrived, the place was full so they put our name on the waitlist and asked us to come back in 20 minutes. When we returned, they told us that there were still no tables available and to come back in 40 minutes even though we noticed that several tables had been seated since we were there 20 minutes earlier. (We had asked whether anyone else was waiting and they said no). Given that they did not seem to honor their own waitlist, instead of waiting again for something that might never come, we ordered food to go. When we came back to pick up the food 15 minutes later we noticed that several more tables had been seated, including a couple that walked in and was directly seated without reservations/waitlist. We are not sure what exactly the issue was but whatever the case may have been we were both annoyed and insulted- that did not seem to bother Cancino and they did not make any attempt to apologize yet alone address the mishandled situation. The pizza was fine but given the lack of service and discourtesy of their staff, I would recommend...

OK LOS PEDIMOS Y TODO BIEN, YO SOY VECINO DE LA COLONIA JUÁREZ, ME AGRADA EL LUGAR, LOS ALIMENTOS, Y EL SERVICIO, HASTA AYER EL SERVICIO POR PARTE DE LA GERENTE, HOSTER Y UNA MESERA, LO CALIFICO PESIMO, UN MESERO JOVEN MUY JOVEN FUE EXCELENTE, LA GERENTE DESPUES QUE VIO QUE UNO DE MIS AMIGOS EMPEZO A ESCRIBIR UNA RESEÑA, DE LO QUÉ ESTABAMOS PASANDO, FUE CUANDO CAMBIO SU ACTITUD. We had the Cesar's Salad and a pepperoni pizza along with a couple of beers. Everything was very good and the server Jenny was very personable. We will definitely return.

Returned and had the roasted beets along with the porchetto pizza. The wood fired roasted beets were AMAZING...the pizza was just okay. Loaded but very dry.

Returned again and got the risotto cheese balls, Roasted cauliflower and a half and half pizza of the Bolognase pizza and Diablo pizza. Everything was fantastic as was the service. Only complaint, beer wasn't cold, they had to put in ice for about 5 minutes to make it drinkable. Maybe the beer cooler...
