I've eaten here 3 times now and I love the outdoor seating, the service is always exceptional and the food until today had been pretty good. I've had the chilaquiles suizos twice (excellent); the breakfast enchiladas (were very tasty); and a cafe latte, very good with high quality coffee. I also had the jugo vede (green juice) which was a "miss." What I didn't like about this one was there was a slimy layer at the bottom and although I've had juices with nopal (cactus) in the past, none have ever had that slime at the bottom. It was gross in all honesty...I didn't finish it.
Today, I had the chilaquiles with arrachera (steak strips) and added the coffee americano & fresh fruit for $60 pesos more. The fruit was wonderful. The serving of chilaquiles was much larger than I needed and the cafe americano wasn't bad. The downside (and the reason for 4 stars vs. 5), I got "moctezuma's revenge" from this place today. I know it was here because I was fine yesterday and only at here today. I'm not sure if it was the food, the fruit or the two glasses of water I drank (I assumed they used filtered water or "agua de garrafon"). Either way, I got the runs...and it was not pleasant. I've had to stay home the rest of the day. :(
They do have an extensive menu but they are on the pricey side, if I'm being honest. After getting sick today, I'm not sure I'll be back. Having said that, I've eaten there three times and didn't get sick the other two times so......
Read moreI feel sad to give this place 3 stars, the reason for it is the restaurant, the shop is 4/5 stars since it has alot of organic products but the restaurant has very little vegan healthy meals, its a huge menu and only 5 meals were vegan. I ordered tacos with roasted tofu, and the tofu was not roasted and the sauce was cold, so the whole meal was cold. I told the waitress and she kindly took it away and didn't charge me. I think they need a better chef there who is paying more attention to catering for all types of people.
I used to worked in a restaurant that served meat and the chef made the most amazing vegan and vegetarian meals even tho he wasn't vegan. Its possible...you just have to be well trained and...
Read moreThis is the largest organic food store in Mexico City. I used to buy in the store located in Coyoacan but they relocated the store and now it is not handy.
The Condesa's store is small and it has its restaurant. Fruits sometimes are ripe enough. Veggies, grass fed steak and organic free range eggs are available. There are a good variety of organic beverages, spices and grain flowers. There is also sell wine, mezcal and beers. During labor days they close at 10:30 pm. Parking can be complicated but shopping from 8:30 to 10:30 is good because you avoid the traffic and you can park...
