Eddie's Place comes highly rated. Cash only. Bring Pesos, the exchange rate for either Canadian or US dollars is bad. We decided to try Eddie's Place for a late lunch. Here's my take ..... The Good, The Boring and the right OFF THE CHARTS. First- The Boring ...we ordered the Eddie's Place Caesar salad. I've eaten Caesar salads all over the world. In my opinion , the Caesar at Eddie's is just plain boring. The dressing makes a Caesar and Eddie's Caesar dressing is a total waste. Worse than boring.... definitely the low point in my meal and a total waste of time and gut space . The Good....the Paradise burger was a good burger, not great , but good. The melted GRILLED cheese actually kicked this burger up more than a few notches but we thought the burger lacked seasoning. Now for the BALL OUT OF THE PARK.... those JUMBO coconut shrimp!!! Holy Cow. We've ordered coconut shrimp more than a few times in most of our tropical travels ... These are definately some of the best, if not THE BEST . Not overly breaded, wonderfully toasted coconutty and perfectly cooked. Did I say JUMBO..."EL Jefes". for sure. The lemonades were excellent, and the service was good. Pricing was reasonable. Handicap accomodations at the tables Sports TV is located inside and out. Vibes were marina casual and chilled. Recommendations.....Order the Coconut Shrimp and save room for another order of the same We'll be back Round 2---And back we are ....1 Week later for JUST the JUMBO coconut shrimp. Excellent!!!!! And Pedro, the server...
Read moreWe ate at Eddies last year and had a very poor experience and actually got sick but since it has great reviews we thought we would try it again we were sat at a dirty table that the waitress simply brushed off. Our placemats were filthy . The waitress neglected us for some reason although we had never seen her before. Thrre was no chips and salsa brought to our table like everybody else got before their order arrived. We had to wait quite awhile for her to take order. The food arrived and looked good but it was awful. Molcajete was the worst I have ever had. Chicken was very dry and tough. Arrachera was very chewy and full of grisle and the chorizo tasted like a hot dog weiner. I never finished any of it. Wife had a cheese quesadilla and it was ok but very greasy. I asked for the bill and the waitress took 1/2 an hour just to bring that saying she was very busy. Not sure doing what other than staying away from our table on purpose. We will not go to Eddie's again and would not recommend it. They seem to be getting business by customers reading their...
Read moreWe traditionally walk along the beach al the way to Eddie's for breakfast, but this time, we chose to make a reservation for Thanksgiving Dinner.
We had Brisa Cabernet Sauvignon by Vista Mar. The salad with strawberry was a great start. The Thanksgiving dinner was very "American," non-dairy and utterly delicious. I want to live off of the dressing and the sweet potato. The turkey was the perfect moisture level. For dessert, we ordered pumpkin pie and flan.
This was the Year of the Corona (2020), so I was appreciative in the spacing of the tables outside (which is where we always ate), the taking of everyone's temperature at the entryway, and the hand sanitizer.
It's cash-only, as always, so we asked for a rough quote on the meal when we called for our reservation, in order to plan ahead for the tip (which they definitely deserve). Look at the menu in the pictures online and plan ahead for how much cash to bring on your next trip to...
