Today was my third day here having breakfast. My first two days the experience was positive but today’s experience was poor and as such I won’t be returning which is a loss to the restaurant as I would of eaten here for a further four more days.
I ordered meal 10 on their menu which comes with toast. My toast didn’t arrive even after I finished my fruit so I asked for the toast. When I went to pay I was charged extra for butter and jam even though I didn’t order this. I would of been happy to pay if the older gentleman who I assume is the manager has been more polite about the situation. It wasn’t even about the extra charge, it was how the situation was handled. He made me wait until he had spoken to the waiter about if I ordered the jam and butter. Obviously the waiter said I ordered it, clearly as he didn’t want to get into trouble. After a back and forth conversation the manager eventually agreed to waive the charge for the jam and butter. I thought this would be the end of it however when I gave my credit card over to pay, the manager with an attitude asked me for cash and wouldn’t take my card. I had paid by card the previous two mornings with no problem whatsoever. I just felt he was being awkward because of what happened. Again we went bank and forth three times until he took my credit card as payment. If this gentleman is the manager he needs to learn how to treat his customers and he now has lost a customer as I won’t be returning after being...
Read moreWe found the service and food very good at a fair price..$65pesos got use a bowl of excellent soup a side of rice and bread buns and a huge jug of lemonade( which they refilled before the main coarse). For the main coarse I had liver and onions with refried beans, and my pal had chicken mole. For dessert we had a small square of cinnamon sugar dusted flan. (A kind of stiff custard. ). This is a traditional Mexican eatery, with a few western twists if desired... We were so pleased that we return the next morning and again for approx.$60pesos each had a full breakfast of fruit juice or fruit salad scrambled eggs with pan fried potatoes and bacon and coffee. We enjoyed both meals and will...
Read moreMy partner and l went to Cafe Alex today for brunch/ lunch. Most menu items were 130-140 pesos. Coffee was offered, and a basket of rolls (assorted) were brought to the table. Once we ordered, juice was brought. The food was alright, but not fantastic. The potatoes that came on my partners plate were particularly awful (tasted like they were leftover from the night before, hard and lukewarm at best.) We probably won’t return. It seemed a bit pricey, but the breads, juice and coffee included in the price was a real bonus, making it feel...
