I came here today for the first time for breakfast. Was looking for a new cafe and decided to give Los Cuiles a try. I live here and work remotely so I've been to many other cafes in town and am always treated with kindness and I always feel welcomed. At Los Cuiles, I did not feel that way. I walked in and the workers were sitting down at a table together working. They got up when I walked in and I said buenas tardes to them first. They did not say it to me. I wanted to get a chai latte but it always depends on the milk alternatives they have as that impacts the taste. They said they had lactosada, almond milk, and almond milk with vanilla and rice milk. I asked to taste a tiny bit of the rice milk, like literally a drop, and immediately the lady standing to the cashier's/waitress left retorted NO. I was like whats the problem. Then the lady who might have been a manager proceeded to give me a bit. It was so weird to have that intense of a reaction to simple request. Also say NO but then proceed to pour me it anyway. I decided to go with the rice milk with my chai latte and it was pretty good! But the environment did not feel pleasant the 2 hours I was there working on my laptop. When I left, no one said hasta luego, or gracias, nothing. Yeah this first time will be my last time. After 2 years I can see why possibly this place was never recommended to me...

For food, the Huevos Divorciados (divorced eggs) are just out of this world 👌🏽 - just the right amount of heat and tartness to start the day. The salsas are incredibly fresh and the dish comes with a bed of corn tortilla that soaks in all the juicy goodness. All the coffees (cappucino, cafe Oaxacaña) are excellent, as is the freshly squeezed papaya juice (hugo de naranja y papaya). It's just SO refreshing 👌🏽. And the prices are so reasonable for the quality of the food and the ambience...
Read moreHad breakfast here twice and both times were very good. Covid regulations prevented diners from sitting indoors but the indoor patio was roomy enough for 5 or 6 socially distanced tables. Prices are very fair, especially considering Oaxaca. Breakfast in the 2-4 USD range. Especially nice are the specials that come with fruit, coffee that has free refills all for no more than 4 USD. The wait staff is attentive and speaks a little English but it is better if you have some rudimentary knowledge of Spanish. There is a nice view of the dome of the church of Santo Domingo from the courtyard. A nice quiet...
