I really enjoyed visiting this hidden gem near Santo Domingo in Oaxaca downtown. The vibe is laid back, service is really attentive and even the simplest dishes are beautifully presented. Something as run-of-the mill as guacamole is given a special touch with artesan tostadas, the tacos are also really delicious. There's an in-house smoker and all of the main dishes are cooked with smoke and simply and tastefully presented. Service is attentive but not intrusive. The highlight of this place for me was the craft beer brewed on-site. I particularly enjoyed the stout and would often pass by on a quiet afternoon to relax and soak up the atmosphere of the beautifully remodelled colonial building. In fact a lot of care has been taken with the redesign of this place and many of the original features have been very carefully preserved. Background music adds to rather than detracts from the atmosphere, and as a reader this is definitely something i value. There is a variety of seating available over the three floors making the space suitable for everyone from solo travellers to groups. I look forward very much to returning here on...

And when the tree that was overhead dropped some fruit, the owner came over and spoke to us about it. “Sapote”, she said “Come by tomorrow and I’ll show you other varieties “. We did. They were delicious. If you love food and the connection to it, this is the place for you. (They make truly...
Read moreWe didn't eat anything on our visit however we did meet the owner and he went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Not only was he super hospitable, he gave us a tour of the restaurant/brewery and allowed us to partake on... I guess you could call it a "drink by invitation". It's draft beer that's off the menu. We had a Maracuya beer that was soo light and refreshing. Highly recommend. The venue is very clean and beautiful, the rooftop has the BEST VIEW of the church, surrounding city, and the cities hillview lights. This would be a great location for a wedding party or dance classes. Will definitely be back in...
