Mejorana — Restaurant in Oaxaca

This little gem is situated inside the hotel we were staying in. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels where breakfast was included and honestly wasn’t too excited about it because they’re usually lame.

This breakfast, however, was phenomenal. Ended up eating there our entire stay. I tried something different everyday and all were 10/10.

The dishes are very creative, from the interesting ingredient combinations, to their beautiful presentation. I loved one of the dishes so much, I even asked for the recipe, hoping they send it to me :)

The menu we had as guests was excellent, and they have a different menu for non-guests at reasonable prices with even more variety.

June 2025 Update: I am changing this review from a 4 to a 5 star as the restaurant took the review seriously and made changes to now offer bottled water. That speaks to the excellence in which they operate.

I ate here twice during my stay in Oaxaca. The food is excellent and the service is superb. My only reason for rating a bit lower is that it would be great if they had bottled (preferably glass) water. BIALE is the best option that I found for that in Oaxaca. Such a fantastic restaurant for breakfast! I had breakfast here a number of times during my stay in Oaxaca. They have amazing oatmeal and avocado toast. The coffee and fresh juice is excellent as well. They were able to accommodate my request for almond milk in my oatmeal and latte. You can sit in the serene courtyard with a fountain or in their indoor seating area. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
