My mind was blown. We came across this place our first night in town. We were led up onto the terrace and were greeting with a beautiful view of the church, and pretty lights strung above. The bartender greeted us as we arrived.

Sandra handed us menus and gave us plenty of time to order. Our drinks were the Huaxyacac Sour and the Nahual. Both were divine!

For food, we ordered the Sopa Azteca, the Mole Coloradito with pork, and Sandra suggested the Bolitas Istmeñas.

The bolitas were one of the most delightful and tasty things I have had in such a long time. It was such a delight for the senses. I highly recommended you try. The mole coloradito also was fabulous, especially for it being my first time trying mole. I couldn’t stop going back for more bites. My husbands favorite was the Sopa Azteca because there were chicharons in it.

Please stop in while visiting! You...

This place is a gem. We came here probably 5 times in 2 weeks for dinner and/or drinks. They have a beautiful rooftop terrace with great views. The food is fresh and tasty (try to tostada de tinga and shrimp tempura tacos with mole), they have great artesanal cocktails, and there's good live music most nights.

What truly sets this place apart is the service. The waitstaff are some of the kindest and most genuine people we encountered in Oaxaca. We went to their sister restaurant (A.M. Cafe in Xochimilco) and felt the same level of warmth from the staff there. This owner is doing something right.

Come here and you will...

We tried Oaxaca te amo last night bssed on reviews. Somewhat disappointing. Service was good and the staff were welcoming and my margarita was ok if not a bit weak. The food was most disappointing. Dry, chewy chicken mole negro (cooked many hors ago) and the temales were dry and inedible. The rooftop location might just make up for the sub par food if it wasn’t for the many smokers puffing away whilst we were trying to eat and breathe. Staff kindly asked some to stop but many just continued (despite no fumar signs clearly posted). We couldn’t get out fast enough. Do yourself a favour and eat at either La Popular....

7.5 out of 10 Nice restaurant in a rooftop in the city center. They had live music and a cosy environment. The night was a little bit chilly but they offered us blankets which was a nice details. They had few options for vegetarians but main part of the menu contains meet/fish. We ordered fried cheese and a tlayuda vegana. The fried cheese was quite good, tasty, crispy and with a delicious jam. The Tlayuda was good but could have been juicier. To sum up, I would recommend the place for a nice night date out, good quality for money. Only suggestion would be to keep improving the veggie options.

The food and cocktails were by far the best we've had here so far! This is a hidden gem for the food and cocktails and highly recommend it!!! There's definitely a missed opportunity with the ambiance. There's a blank wall that would be great for a photo moment that they could market their restaurant with, as well. The lights were too bright, cafeteria style. I believe if they dimmed the overhead lights and added some uplighting around the perimeter it would improve the overall feel dramatically. But once again, the food was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the drinks were outstanding!!
