My mind was blown. We came across this place our first night in town. We were led up onto the terrace and were greeting with a beautiful view of the church, and pretty lights strung above. The bartender greeted us as we arrived.
Sandra handed us menus and gave us plenty of time to order. Our drinks were the Huaxyacac Sour and the Nahual. Both were divine!
For food, we ordered the Sopa Azteca, the Mole Coloradito with pork, and Sandra suggested the Bolitas Istmeñas.
The bolitas were one of the most delightful and tasty things I have had in such a long time. It was such a delight for the senses. I highly recommended you try. My husbands favorite was the Sopa Azteca because there were chicharons in it.

The food was most disappointing. Dry, chewy chicken mole negro (cooked many hors ago) and the temales were dry and inedible. The rooftop location might just make up for the sub par food if it wasn’t for the many smokers puffing away whilst we were trying to eat and breathe. Staff kindly asked some to stop but many just continued (despite no fumar signs clearly posted). We couldn’t get out fast enough. Do yourself a favour and eat at either La Popular....
