UPDATE: Reaction of the owner reflects my Review perfectly. Total denial, no self reflection, no service from staff who don't speak a word of english. And then get blamed if they take orders from english wrong and want to charge you for this (see her comment) LOL This French owner is the worst of the worst. She updated her reaction twice :-) Afraid other people will see het true nature in responds to customers.
Very rude owner, never experienced anything like this. Recently they have changed their menu from Spanish to English. This makes it easier for the customer, but not for the people who take the orders, since they don't understand what you tell them. Twice I got the wrong dish. Can happen of course. But the owner comes to us and literally says, "For this time we replace it, but it's your fault because it's already gone wrong twice. I said: 'How can I order something wrong in English? I don't name a completely different dish if I don't want it of course.
Her answer: 'our employees don't make mistakes in this.' Never experienced anything like this in a restaurant, while it is also their own fault. Food has also recently become seriously worse. Don't eat here if you want decent food or any kind of...

Tucked away on a sleepy corner of a tree-lined street, Chill-A-Kill has been my go-to spot for breakfast and lunch for months. Literally every dish I’ve ordered from their extensive menu has been outstanding — from cochinita chilaquiles to waffles; from omelettes to mascarpone/fig/honey bruschetta. Last night was the first time I had supper there, and I was blown away. Figured I’d take a big chance (on the Pacific coast of Mexico) and ordered hummus, lamb kebab, and pita. You cannot imagine my surprise and delight when the meal showed up, both beautiful and expertly prepared. I should mention that I used to run a Middle Eastern restaurant in NYC…
Whether the place is packed or I have the staff’s undivided attention, they treat me like family, and it is a joy to spend my mornings or afternoons or evenings there, eating, drinking (juices are bomb, btw; and bottomless earthenware mugs of organic coffee? Yes, please!) and reflecting on how glad and fortunate I am to have...
Read moreThat’s the closest place to our hotel but unfortunately after the first visit I have no wish to come back. The food is ok, but nothing exceptional (we ordered vegan options), but the service not at all. The kitchen is really slow, the waitresses are incompetent: the one who was taking order didn’t know what were some ingredients… I ordered a salad and my husband falafel and waited for 50 minuets! And the place was almost empty, there were like 7 people maximum in all place. No apologies at all, no one asked if we wanted another drink in the mean time, and when I asked the waitress (the second one) why the guy who came after us is already eating and we are still waiting - she said “It’s the kitchen, I don’t know”. If you have a lot of time to spend, not hungry and just wanna sit there - ok. Otherwise there are lots of other places in the area with better service and nicer to...
